Hi, everyone. I'm going to be shipping a high-dollar book to Comiclink in the next day or so. For shipping expensive books, which shipping company/method do you guys generally prefer? Obviously, I want to be as confident as possible that the book will arrive safely. I also want to be able to insure for the full value ($$$) and be fairly confident that, if the book is lost or damaged, I will be able to collect on the insurance claim with minimal hassle. Any thoughts would be appreciated. Thanks. |

Maybe FedEx. Probably better than USPS and UPS. Not really a whole lot to choose from.

If you have insurance, your choices are more limited. For example I think collectinsure requires fedex with signature.

For 1-time high dollar insurance, USPS Registered Mail has the best rate per $100 coverage. But it can be a longer delivery due to the secure method of handling.

Registered Mail is the Golden Ticket that very few know about. Agree 100% with @chester15 |

I've used USPS Registered Mail in the past to ship things and that was actually what I was leaning toward. Maybe I'll just go with that. Thanks all. |

Maybe its just my local Post Office, but the USPS has lost a lot of our (my wife and I) packages. Dropping it off at the wrong address etc. so my faith in them has dwindled over the years.

The USPS is the ONLY company that has ever lost "multiple" packages over the years. The others have never lost a single one. (Yet, *knocks on wood*.) |

Quote:Originally Posted by GanaSothI get it, you hate USPS because they lose your packages repeatedly. I hate FedEx for the same reason. Someone else hates UPS. All I'm saying is that they all can fall short, and there's nothing to prevent it. All you can do is to prepare for the eventuality as best you can. |

I would go USPS Registered Mail. Many times it really has more to do with the local Employees than anything else. Ive shipped thousands of packages over the past 20 years and never had any incidents with USPS |
