I only found out there was a gold variant of X-Men 2099 #1 a couple months ago when watching LunchMoneyComics on YouTube.

When I was a kid in the 70s, I loved Colorforms sets. I still do, although I don't own any.

For those of you too young to remember, here's a link to explain what Colorforms were. They still exist although I think they were cooler back in the day.

In the 90s, DC published Superman: The Man of Steel #30 with a Superman vs. Lobo Colorforms cover. It allows you to create your own fight scene over and over.

I don’t remember this one, but I do love the gimmick! What a cool idea.

Here's what's in the bag...

How would that be graded if someone submitted it with the colorforms put on all over the cover? They're not permanent, so would the grader remove them from the cover?

You do know that the new guy brings the donuts, right? DWeeB1967 private msg quote post Address this user
@peterc777 I have absolutely no clue. Personally, I'd never have this book graded since that just takes away all the fun.

Unless the clings stick to the outside of the slab. I bet they would.

I have one of these graded CBCS 9.8 in a box somewhere...
Looks awesome in the slab.
Just gave my daughter a reader copy.

No they would not remove anything, but it would be considered a defect IMO...

I always liked this one, too. I actually think the standard version pops more than the harder to find gold edition.

West Coast Avengers #100 Foil comic book from Marvel Comics in 1993.
Bright red foil does not photograph well.

Any idea what the first foil cover was? Either embossed lettering or full comic?

Was it Silver Surfer 50?
