Unfortunately my daughter lives in Burbank. She’s visiting me right now, but she’s very concerned about her apartment complex.

They are saying on the news, "grab what you can and run for your lives!" So much damage already. I'm glad we don't live there anymore. Firefighter from several states are on their way to help.

My brother has a house in the palisades. He is safe. Told me no insurance company would write him a fire insurance policy because of the frequent wild fires.

Wow! So glad he's safe. Insurance companies absolutely suck!

I just hope the damage and injury/loss of life is kept to a minimum.

It's sad. I know that fires are common in California but it doesn't seem like I remember many A) at this time if year and B) so close to LA. I'm not in California, though, so maybe it's more common than I know.

Things have changed since I've been in that game. They used to let forest fires burn and "manage" them to get rid of over growth and downed trees to allow for new growth.

I live in temecula about 50 miles away. The winds pick up and it gets real quick with fires here. We had 2 good years because of the rain but I guess that's over.

Pretty bummed. Not the way that I want to be in the news. My dad’s home burned down. It was a total loss. My family is okay physically, but they are working on temporary housing, then getting professional support. They lived there for 30+ years.

Actual home footage

I left “Dodge” 3 days prior.

I was snowboarding at Mammoth one of those years. Blizzard almost delayed my flight back home. Glorious years!

Last week we were at Big Bear 🐻

@DWeeB1967 Thank you. You can always replace stuff, but not loved ones. I am trying to see what they need so I can send them a substantial care package. I am trying to figure out if I can go back there too.

I will miss the scenic views, long walks along the beach, seeing which celebrities moved in or out of the neighborhood, and playing Tempest, Spy Hunter, & Galaga in the garage.

@jake Please let the forum know if we can help. I'd absolutely be willing to send a care package. I'm sure others would, too.

Insurance companies are businesses like any other...they evaluate risk and determine if they want to take on that risk. From a business perspective, is it smart business to take on risk that virtually guarantees fire chains, water claims? Even if they did, the premiums would be cost prohibitive....it's a sh!tty situation but no one wants that type of risk.

With that being said, I find the use of numerous punctuations and emoji's to cutesy this topic up to be a piss poor look.

The mismanagement of the state of CA lies solely at the feet of the people in charge. After the clean-up of this fire... look out for the mudslides.
