@James42 That's not a bad idea. I was thinking about throwing them a single book( no pressing)just to test the waters. Btw, when do they go live? |

@ComicNinja0215 Maybe CGC added a free membership later but there absolutely was a time when you had to pay $25 to submit. CGC never always had a free membership.

@GAC i thought so. I believed i was misfit i sat on it and said " wait a minute " lol Either way, I don't feel the price increase was necessary. It's only a matter of time until another screw up pops on YouTube. |

CGC raising prices for a sh!t product makes no sense to those of us in the know. Like @DrWatson stated....all these incremental increases add up and ultimately impact the cost of shipping and insurance too, as your total cost for books increased.

Seems like the hierarchy is meddling with the low men on the totem pole. I think a lot of this push is from the superiors trying to keep the board members happy.

I can speak for the CGC free membership since I was a free member for many many many years. The criteria was you could submit to in-house signings. You could submit at conventions in which CGC attended. But you could not mail in book to Sarasota for grading. For that you needed a paid account. The reason I remained a free member for so many years is that my presser had a dealer membership with CGC in which he passed on his savings to his customers. So there was no reason for me to have a paid membership as I was only sending books into him; and he in turn submitted on my behalf with his major discount. That dealer discount and sending books to customers home address instead of the dealers address was eliminated by CGC 2 years ago. It was at that time I became a paid member |

Even after I explained the situation; I was still hounded. I eventually made up for it but in turn they sent me three banana books. Unbeknownst to me. ![]() ![]() |

@Nuffsaid111 CGC won't ship slabs to a different address than that of the submitter even when specified on the submission form? I never had that problem. My last mail in submission to CGC using someone elses account was less than 2 years ago and those blue label slabs were shipped to me without a problem.

Quote:Originally Posted by SpiderTim I'm not sure if it's necessarily the address, but I do know there is a change with cgc authorized dealers. They can no longer submit their customers books under their account number (and as such, the discount). There's a news post somewhere in the cgc news section |
