It's one thing to receive, I don't know how many packages each day...then to go through and open them to make sure they weren't damaged, then enter them into the system, making sure your books match your invoice so that your notification will be sent.
Now add the fact that they just ran 2 popular promos over the last couple months, and are very likely overwhelmed.

Patience is a necessity.

@power_struggle55 It took them over 3 weeks to respond to my last email. Plenty of other businesses are capable of receiving packages without taking months to do so after it was delivered.

You should see if those companies grade comic books and send yours there.

So first let me say I think CBCS is a quality product at a great price.

That being said, customer service is absolutely atrocious. They don't answer the phone, they don't answer e-mail direct or from their portal on the website. I seen a TON of people say, PM @wade_story, which BTW he is amazing, but he isn't customer service, the fact that he does it is amazing(whatever they are paying him, they should up it right now)...what happens when he isn't there, or simply don't want to go above and beyond?

This had been going on like, forever. And they make it worse with a self inflicted wound. Why, would you advertise on your site a turn time, and then take twice as long....3x as long? Why would you make a customer, who chose you, over other companies, wait with no communication to let them know what is going on? And you have done this to people so much they think it's normal???? "turnaround was estimated at 17 weeks. It took 51", "First submission for me took 18 months to get back, 2nd a year, 3rd a month and 4th a month and a half"

You can explain all about the holidays, the promos, weather, aliens, whatever excuse you want, it's simply not good customer service.

I want CBCS to succeed, and I am aware that CGC is really putting on the squeeze, you can start to push back on that pressure, by picking up a few people and dedicate them to simply service your customers.

CGC is only “putting the squeeze” on books. CBCS does need serious attention on CS and it needs to be in house support.

I found Cynthia to be the superior individual that got things done in CS.
And of course they moved her out of the comics division and over the sports division.

Customer service is atrocious nearly everywhere. Companies appear to intentionally create hurdles to rectifying mistakes, while cutting costs, causing more mistakes to occur.

Exceptions exist but they are few and far between.

I agree 100% I know several people that sent 30+ books, I personally sent 36, I have seen several posts of people on this forum with 40 books give or take, so I imagine they are flooded, but again, they put the promotion in place, they have to prepare for it to happen.

Personally it was an insane promo, but imagine, had they put a plan in place to receive , process, notify customers, and the rest in a timely manner, imagine the buzz. From a Marketing standpoint, it would be a huge win.

I know my order has been received, my credit card charged...if my order is processed in the time as listed in their website, you can best damn believe I will be on here praising until my fingers are tired and out shouting it from the rooftops.

And trust me, that is exactly what they would want.

I know this is beating a dead horse, but the CS really is a problem. I sent in 2 books in October with sig verification, went into pressing November 20th.

Since then, no update. I am about 4 emails and an official ticket submitted. No response to any of them.

If CBCS wants to survive, this lack of response NEEDS to be addressed.

He works for CBCS and has been great at answering questions when no one else will.

So I just had a nightmare situation with CGC, it took from July 2024 until literally this week to get 2 comic books pressed and graded

I'm looking to use CBCS instead now, I have a few modern comics to send in, and some brand new comics to send in

I sent in an email but haven't gotten any response

I'm not even sure if I should go with CGC again or CBCS.......

What is the approx turnaround time for CBCS encapsulation and grading WITHOUT pressing?

@Vmt8 Right now that is a loaded question lol
The listed turnaround times are 30 business days no press and 50 business days with press. Recent holiday promos, sales and conventions have caused those times to be much greater.

@Vmt8 if you emailed about the turnaround time and got no response, it's because it's on the website where it says "Pricing & Turnaround Times".

With their most recent aggressive and awesome promos, I'm sure they got swamped with submissions. Considering the numerous CGC issues of late, I'd imagine they've attracted a number of new customers looking for a better choice for their volume of comics.

I've done 4 submissions with CBCS the past 12 months, after only a handful in the past. I've been extremely satisfied with their service and product, and have accepted that they're swimming under a mountain of new books for the foreseeable future and not worry about my turnaround times. Welcome to the forums!

I have had 2 orders sit in buling now for weeks. They both say I owe money, so I have tried multiple times to pay, even getting the successfully paid message prompt go up.

I get emails now saying I owe money on my books and when I look I do. I have sent multiple emails, tried DM on Facebook and called the number which is terrible. I have gotten no response.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated

How many weeks since your first email?
Often takes a few.

@Spideybono Often Becketts and CBCS also seem to charge a completely different credit card for me and not the one that I specified on the submission form. I don't understand why they charge a different card when I specified which one to use on the order form.
