CAPTAIN MIDNIGHT on the Radio and CAPTAIN MIDNIGHT in the comics
were not quite the same but I enjoyed them both.

JOKER covers were always fun to find and appear to still be
popular with collectors.

Thank you! That was one that was way up on the top of the comic
book rack...almost out of reach.

At 15 cents each, these titles were always a tough decision to buy.

I wonder if there are still any of the free pictures of BUGS and
PORKY, that were given with subscriptions, still out there?
I had two but they are long gone.

@martymann I picked one up Sunday in a sales Thread across the street. I will share it here when it arrives to me. They are hard to come by. I regret not 'manning up' enough to snag one circa WWII that features bugs in full military regalia. Don't know if i'll ever come across one again, and if so, i'm sure it'll be more than what the last one i saw went for.

Hard to believe that they still exist...good for you in finding
it. Look forward to seeing it.

@martymann excuse me if this has been asked before.

Do you plan on selling any of your collection while you are with us? If not, do you have instructions in place for those that may sell it after you are gone? Surely this collection is worthy of pedigree, being that you are the original owner of all your books.

I only ask because I would be willing to pay a bit of premium to own a "Marty Mann" book. Something CF said similar in another thread reminded me of this

@shrewbeer again, thank you for your interest in my collection.
While I have no plans of selling any books at the present time
there could always be a reason to sell one or more specific books.
Unfortunately both grading companies agree that my collection does
not meet the standards required for a Pedigree so there doesn't
appear to be any additional value in being an "Original Owner
Collection".
I might be able to create a certificate to accompany the book
stating it's original ownership...but as one person said "It's
not worth the paper it's printed on!".
As for the future, my collection will pass onto my two sons who
treasure the books as much as I do.
Hope this answers your question.
Thanks!

Marty Mann

BS imo. Original owner should count towards something.

Just saw a 5.0 copy of this with a bid of $1,733 on COMICLINK...
wonder what this would bring at auction? My pages are OFF-WHITE to
WHITE vs. CREAM to OFF-WHITE...if page quality factors in the price.

Not a very good scan but I had this graded before I had a scanner.
This issue contains an origin story but CGC wouldn't list it on
the label. I believe this is the first time I've shared this cover.

it should be worth a little than the 5.0 copy.

Just checked and the bid's at $1,833 with 7 days left...wonder how
high the 5.0 copy will go?
