I was wondering if cbcs still slabbed comics without a grade? I know it seems strange but my kid started drawing his own comics and we bought him some draw your own comics and I thought it would be cool to get them slabbed for him so it looks like part of a "serious collection" as he put it.

Welcome to the CBCS forum. There’s a slab only option for $18 - look at the services and prices under grading. Or you could purchase a Comic Skin-like case yourself (a few companies offer similar products) that lets you slab any comic you want.

And if you create your own comic skin and put a label with a grade on it, you'd probably be closer to the real grade than what CGC would provide.

At worst you would have an unbent comic without a broken case. Imagine that

I think an original art label from CBCS would be special

if they are not “actual comic books” I think OA slab would be the only option. Perhaps @SteveRicketts or @Wade_Story can confirm.

Well, the problem with sending this book is that CBCS will not do slab only on books with signatures. At least not at the slab only cost. Books with signature(s) HAVE TO have get the signatures verified by BAS. So just add 30 bucks to the slab only rate.

I ran into this about three months ago when a client wanted to get a coverless DD! slabbed just to preserve it. But CBCS customer service said the signatures had to be verified even on slab only. And the signature on this book is verified as well

I'd like to say I still turned out alright, but that would be a lie. flanders private msg quote post Address this user
@IronMan that's odd, you'd think they would slab it without verifying the signature(s), which is an option they give if the verfication fails with graded slabs.

If the viagra is working you should be well over a 9.8. xkonk private msg quote post Address this user
@flanders I'm just going by memory, but I think they got rid of that option.
