Collectivus Holdings Announced as Beckett Parent Company21393

Collector Paulbg2000 private msg quote post Address this user
Does this mean anything for CBCS? Business as usual? Says it's under a new parent company, but doesn't specify a sale or details.

I had no way of knowing that 9.8 graded copies signed by Adam Hughes weren't what you were looking for. drchaos private msg quote post Address this user
From what I read this is more akin to a corporate restructuring than an acquisition.

The Beckett CEO will be the CEO of the parent company now.

This may have more to do with who owns Beckett than who runs it on a day to day basis.

Of course that could always change in the future.

What I want to know is if Collectivus will have a Festivus celebration for the rest of us:

@drchaos LOL, first thing I thought of as well!

Maybe they can have their next promo code be “FESTIVUS.” Then, according to the video, at least the three of us can enjoy the savings.

@drchaos yeah - reads as just a re-structure.

Beckett, Dragon Shield and Southern Hobby Distribution must have all been owned by the same group but operating independently the owners/lenders who have now formed Collectivus as an umbrella corporation to better integrate those entities.

Hmmmm....an Umbrella Corporation.......nothing could go wrong??

Nice - looks like Southern Hobby distributes cards, Dragon Shield makes sleeves for cards and Becket grades cards - among other things

@KatKomics - An Umbrella Corporation. I hear the new CEO looks like this:

Now that there is an umbrella corporation it will be interesting to see if CBCS continues to be part of Beckett or becomes an independent arm of the umbrella with its own separate leafership.

I took a screenshot of his long, detailed post this morning since there was a lot of good info in it and he put a lot of time into it.

All I said was it made me decide against submitting for the VSP promo. Which I guess is why they removed mine also.

Then they deleted the entire signature event thread altogether 🤷

Hopefully Collectivus has a focus on customer service they can impose onto CBCS.

This thread or was there one dedicated to signing events?

https://forum.cbcscomics.com/topic/21375/page/6/cbcs-free-vsp-holiday-giveaway-use-code-holiday24-tc-apply/#132

Because the vsp promo thread is alive and kicking.

The VSP promo ended on 12-15, so you couldn't have submitted anyway.

Sounds like Steve Borock should start his own blog or comic book forum.

I didn’t see Steve’s post. Are we getting the CGC moderation team?

I submitted an invoice of a dozen books. They have 'til the end of the year to get there. I won't be sending them. And after what I learned today, I don't see using them at all. It's not good.

I'm not concerned about any of this. If Collectivus was behind the vsp promo, it sounds like they know how to market and generate revenue when things slow down. I may eat my words, but I don't see them having a ton of qc issues, especially when PSA is going to enter market and they need to be even more competitive.
