Are there ways to send in comics to get signed by the artists? Living in Montana it seems like all of the Comic-Con or Signature Events always take place in either the East Coast or the West Coast. They never come to the Midwest as far as I know. If anybody can help me out with that let me know text[/b]

I know that CBCS offers some signing events. That's how I got two of my books signed. For this option, though, you're limited to whoever CBCS has an event set up for. You can check their website for details, but I don't believe they currently have any events scheduled. |

@DMD161 Welcome to the forum... CBCS does (or has) offer signing opportunities several times a year. They are currently doing some, errr "restructuring" we will call it. Check the website as @StraightArrow mentioned for new & or upcoming signing events. It's a big part of the grading world, so they should hopefully get this figured out soon. |

CGC also offers this as well but you need to check on their site as they seem to get all the famous artists/writers scheduled for these events. I just got a mail about a signing coming up for Dan Jurgens and Brett Breeding https://www.cgccomics.com/news/ I did bite the bullet on the Wolverine 50th anniversary signings CGC had but not a big fan of doing this as it gets expensive!!!! |

@DoorCntyComicColl cgc charges way too much for most artists. The only one I did with them is McFarlane. Still way too high, but unless you are able to get him to sign at a show after standing in line all day, it was the only way to get Todd to sign. Example: Conway at cgc was 50.00 for the signature. CBCS was 30.00 Thomas at cgc was 90.00 for the signature. CBCS was 50.00. |

Hey, I got one of those Gerry Conway sigs through CBCS! Mark Waid, too! I think with encapsulation, signatures, and shipping, I paid somewhere in the neighborhood of $120. Not a bad deal!

@Nearmint67 Totally agree but from what I understand the artists and writers make a ton as well (and I think well earned!!) I bit the bullet because I had all 4 books in the Wolverine mini series as CGC 9.8s. I ended up getting 5 signatures on each book (with those folks up in age).. I calculated with the cost of the original encapsulation from CGC to get the 9.8 (Payed cover price per book as I bought them back in '82 when they first came out/shipping/etc.. total cost about $30 per book) and then resubmitting them months later for their signature series I must have easily dropped close to $270 per book for total costs (shipping to CGC/5 signatures cost in signings/re-encapsulating/shipping from CGC)... Its expensive.... |
