Hi gang, Does anyone have contact info for Investment Grade Books, operated by Matt and Emily Meyers? A client of mine has a very valuable Golden Age book and is interested in having it restored using Matt and Emily's advanced techniques. As many of you know, Matt and Emily recently won a lawsuit against CGC for defamation. After a brief retirement, rumor has it that Matt and Emily are back in business. However, there's absolutely no contact info for Investment Grade Books online. I tried contacting them through their lawyer, but he hasn't acknowledged my request. Any help appreciated! |

Hello, and welcome to the boards. I was told that they only worked on books in which they held a financial interest and were going to be offered for sale once the restoration was completed. |

Good luck with that. I suppose you could try looking their names up thru one of those sites like Spokeo and whittle down the 800+ results or 2300+ results with public information on his/her age and location. That may lead to a social media account of Matt or Emily Myers….Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and so on. No guarantee if you are successful, they will answer you or even offer their services. And if they do, unless you want their Frankenstein level of single dot color touch and the like performed on the book, which would have to run thousands of dollars, you would be better off using a capable presser who would do advanced work on a GA book like Phil of Phantom Resto. Or Paul of Liberty Hill Comics. Come to think of it, Phil and Paul have a weekly livestream show on YouTube…. … within the past month or so, they offered something along the lines of doing free work on Paul’s end and IIRC, a reduced rate on Phil’s end, to work on a single GA book. It may have been discussed in this video, I can’t remember the details. https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=Z0T9pNeHrEY Both of them do capable work, Phil is the more experienced of the two. Paul doesn’t offer paid pressing services, he works on his own books. https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=Z0T9pNeHrEY |

And yeah, from what I understand of the Myers, I don’t think they would be looking to take on any clients given the possible blowback doing so could come their way. Just my hunch, I don’t know them personally but given the circumstances of their lawsuit with CGC, the risk/reward ratio for them to take on any work other than books of their own, seems like it would be a dealbreaker to me. I haven’t read the lawsuit summary in full, but there is a reason why they chose to scrub any contact information regarding their business from the internet. |

@PolarisNuclearSS2020 blowback? Nah. No shame in being good at what you do. If I take a restored Jag E-Type to Jay Leno and he can’t tell how or if it’s been restored then that’s on Leno not the person who did the work. Best comparison I could come up with. Leno is a knowledgeable car collector and the E-Type is presumably one of his favorites. |

Blowback from CGC I would imagine is the concern that the Myers have in taking on clients. The Myles do excellent work. |
