I hope that forum can get back to its former self as many people seem to enjoy it there....what's going on over there?

My guess would be an attempt at damage control.

All they're doing is throwing water on a grease fire.

A friend of mine was cooking pot stickers drunk at 3 am, caused a grease fire, and my other incredibly drunk friend panicked and threw a pot of water on it. There were several eyebrows lost and a huge plume of black smoke stained the kitchen walls and ceiling. I somehow slept through all of this but it's one of the funniest mornings I've ever had. First I saw the stained kitchen and then came across my friends still passed out and ashy.

I will resubmit this one to CBCS because it is a pedigree book. If I find anymore, I'm just going to sell them on and replace them with either CBCS or older label books graded by the cgc.

It's too nerve-wracking. Plus, if the grade drops during resubmission to CBCS, it starts to become too much of a financial loss.

There shouldn't be anymore, but I haven't checked my Star Wars books.

I believe the banana books are s/n 43 and 44 only, is that right? Or are there 42 examples? I used to know, but can't remember.

People have posted books with numbers 42 and lower. I haven’t seen as many of them, so I can’t say for certain how often or how likely sub 43s will be warped.

I have a banana book that starts 3806. The problem goes back at least 3.5 years, it's not just 42's and 43's.

Did you personally sub this book raw to CGC 3.5 years ago?

I ask as it could be a book that was cracked out from the early 2016 new holder redesign that had no inner well leaving just 2 sheets of mylar to sandwich the book…..your book could have been graded back in 2016, than reholdeded without a press.

This early 2016 “new CGC case” resulted in full book waviness , especially prominent at the top and bottom of book.

And of course, very pronounced newton rings.

It is possible that over a few years time, the waves could partially relax with the pressure exerted on the waves transferred to the spine causing a banana effect.

The problem with this board is that it is not actually laid out as a standard message board.

There are no forums, no sub forums.

This is just a bulletin board and threads get archived after a year or two.

The utility of the CGC forums is that it’s a great research tool.

The CBCS “forum” very layout as a simple bulletin board layout with threads that get archived to boot, render any opportunity for this board to be a research tool.

It’s remarkably foolish on CBCS’s part that after 8 years, they have not switched to a traditional message board layout.

If a guy like @DitchFahrenheit can create a traditional message board as a hobby project, then a large company backed by a larger company, can easily hire a code writer to create a functional message board with forums and subforums.

Doing this would significantly increase CBCS interaction with collectors and dealers.

I am sure that CBCS employees understand this, but they are not in charge of making such decisions.

Even so, seems to me that a senior CBCS employee like @stevericketts should kick the cab/idea up the road to the CBCS bossman.

While CBCS did capitalize on CGC’s banana cases with a “no banana “ video, CBCS needs to do more than that and creating a functional/traditional CBCS forums, would be the least costly step to take.

That, and follow CGC’s lead on scanning the FC/BC of each book upon grading as that is really the only easy way to determine if a case has been opened and resealed by a scammed, and a lower grade copy switched in.

@PolarisNuclearSS2020 you're not wrong. It's been brought up in the past. It doesn't have to be as compartmented as CGC's forum, but even just something as simple as separate sections for buying/selling, comic discussion, and then a, dare I say, water cooler. It's simple. If it grows, then throw GA, SA, BA, etc in there. The post-it note style with topics that archive after 30-60 days strikes me as silly. I might scroll through one or two "show more threads" clicks before walking away.

When y'all gonna get that Beckett money to make some changes?

There was a board member who posted here a couple years ago. He was in an LA rock band and was in the marqee with Missing Persons and played drums maybe? I can't remember. He also played for Dale Bozzio. Anyway I can't find it. A lot of the archived posts are closed I guess.
