Worth sending for verification?21280

Hi. I saw the post about the new discount code and was considering using it for my first submission to CBCS. I want to send in my Ghost Rider #5 1990 with unverified sigs by Stan Lee and Jim Lee. It is not a particularly high value book, but I would like to have it verified if possible. I have heard that CBCS is fairly stingy on verifying Stan Lee’s sig. Figured I would ask the experienced submitters for guidance. Thanks.

How do I know this? Because I've done it myself. lawguy1977 private msg quote post Address this user
Looks legit to me, I'd send it in.

If I could, I would. I swear. DrWatson private msg quote post Address this user
You could pay the $10 to have pre-verified before sending it in... maybe.

I would do what @DrWatson stated. Can you post the discount code?

The quick Beckett online pre-verify or do you still send it in to CBCS for them to do a full review?

You can do both, either, or neither. I'd start with the least expensive and least risk, myself.

@Danimal1112 If you're looking at using the 50% Signature Review Services, I think that is for sports items only. Typically they do that discount for autographed balls, cards etc. The only comic discount I see is the 50% off on pressing.

Thanks. Yeah. I just noticed that as well when I started to put together an order.

If you want to wait a little, they do have verified signature discounts every once in a while. Either way, good luck on the verification and enjoy the superior cases and service.

I think you just send photos and I would highly recommend it.
Especially when you have more than one sig to verify because if one doesn't pass, they automatically all fail. But they still keep all the money. It's an expensive lesson.
Last year I sent a book with Todd and Stan sigs. I watched them being signed. One didn't pass but they don't say which. I have to assume it was Stan. They don't even say they checked any more than the one. They just all fail.

Unfortunately, I didn't do the pre-verification because I know they're legit. What could have cost $10 cost near a hundred with 2 verifications, shipping and insurance.

Yeah. I did the $10 online service as suggested by a few and it came back unlikely to pass. It didn’t seem like a very thorough job and results came back pretty quick. I wish they gave more feedback than that for the quick online and full verification services if they are going to decline something. I thought both sigs looked good on this one. I have heard that Beckett and CBCS are tough on Stan Lee’s verification. I have read similar stories as yours that someone watched it get signed but then was still declined. I’ll probably just keep it raw and buy a witnessed one sometime.

I resubmitted this for the $10 service for another review and the second time it just came back as could not render an opinion. Ha. Back to square one.
