X-Men #111. One of my favorite covers. Clink auction win. Still butt hurt about the $25 shipping.

I also picked up a Spider-Man #1 Gold Edition Second Printing 9.8 off eBay, but I can't post it here. It's in a PG(OH!) slab, but the shipping was quite reasonable.

Next time pay and tell them to hold it for you. You can always try to win something in the next auction and combine shipping.

Just curious on what you think the shipping price should be?

That's not an easy question to answer as it can vary depending on the service. $100 books typically ship from MCS in the $12 to $15 range. I figure CLink uses FedEx as it ties into their insurance in some form or another. That said, this package arrived with no signature required, which is usually an essential component of a policy.

Shipping shouldn't cost one fourth of your purchase price.

Shipping costs have definitely increased, especially up here in Canada...crazy expensive.....this being said, my recent four slab purchase from MyComicShop cost $31 in shipping...not bad considering 1 slab costs $20.20....this is international shipping so obviously more expensive than domestic.

I got an email today and the cost of a Forever Stamp is going up from 73¢ to 78¢ today (July 13, 2025).

Once the price of a stamp is more than the convenience fee for paying bills on line, I won't be mailing anything through the post.

I sent the last books I sold UPS because the rate was much better than the post office, and that included insurance.

Priority mail is supposed to increase as well.

Rarest? Maybe there are other rare ones, but you haven't found them yet.

@DrWatson there are definitely other rare ones out there. The Greek & Polish definitely can be a challenge but far and wide anything from Iceland is going to be amongst the rarest copies of any book, usually production numbers being inline with the population of the country. Recently Korea has been producing super limited copies of books, a spider man 300 two printings of Secret wars 8 both numbering in the 100’s. But so far they haven’t done an ASM 238.

My haul from our local Con this last weekend!

Very happy to finally have a first print in my personal collection:

Low grade is better than no grade, right?

And did you know there are “Tremors” comics? I didn’t! It’s an anthology series. I met Tone Rodriguez in artist alley and had him sign 1-4. After #5, there will be a TPB.

I also had Mr. Rodriguez do a sketch cover for me. I’m pretty psyched about how it turned out:

I added Rob Paulsen‘s autograph to my “Animaniacs” comic. He voiced Yakko, Pinky & Dr. Scratchansniff. He was super nice and spent a fair amount of time talking to me.

A modern book I wanted, but didn’t care to grab when it was overhyped.

A Deadpool backpack I just thought was cool. And the quality is pretty solid.

And I filled in a few books in my wife’s Silver Age Wonder Woman run:
