Some of you may be aware that I collect Star Wars sketch covers. I tend to be a little bit picky about the artists, because I ask them to do whatever they like with the characters. What I want is their interpretation, not mine.

I was at one of my local shops yesterday, talking to the owner (who I have been personal friends with for nearly 20 years), telling him I had finally found someone to do a Lando cover for me. He thought for a beat, walked over to a box, pulled this out and handed it to me. "I think you should have this."

A mutual friend, who was possibly the biggest Star Wars fan I knew, had commissioned this sketch from Meghan Hetrick the same year that he died. His family recently brought some of his collection to sell, nine years later. And so it came to me.

It's a silly little piece, but I can see the grin on his face again because of it.

The George of Jungle is tied for highest on census
Flying Nun is 2nd highest.
Neither has the "Bends" whatsoever which is shocking
This was a Feb submission that will likely be my last Universal sub to CGC for awhile. Until I'm confident they've fixed their slabs

I was able to get out to a comic book show over the weekend. My son who also collects comics is now back in town and drove me as I am still not allowed to drive due to my knee replacement. It felt good going to a happy place. Picked up a new Adam Hughes book and more Mark Spears books for the PC.

Marc Andreyko, who is my favorite comic book writer, worked on the original “Sam & Twitch” series. It’s a solid read.

never had heard of it before. there is a business in Charlotte that they buy pallets of amazon, target, and Walmart returns. then sell them. you bid online, the pick it up their location. stuff that doesn't sell, or cant sell they put in bins where prices go from $8 on Fridays to $2 on Wednesdays (gets lower each day) with Thursday is $15 for a grab bag. only exceptions are discs (movies, CDs, records, games) and books. went there to see if any good movies. they didn't but checked out books and saw the two and artists would be at the convention next week. so bought them
