One more slot filled in the copper Uncanny X-Men run. I'm just an issue or three away.

I was surprised to see this come up for sale and CBCS graded as well. It is also a pedigree-ish copy from the personal collection of Mr. Magik Woo. I almost didn't buy it as the for sale scan made it look as though the top was miscut. It isn't. I was fortunate to be able to work out a deal with the seller. One more for the November 1971 set.

@ICConquest Welcome to the "I take my hobby seriously, and all I got was an overgrown kindergartener that is in need of a non-neglectful babysitter telling me who I am" club!

I can only guess that @flanders would agree that this topic is all fun and games until somebody reminds us what the flutes smell like at banned camp.

If CGC is still anything like I was told years ago, their graders are still grading via a 'per quota' system. Meaning that the way they grade, slab, etc. is based on what numbers they have to meet.

So while I had bought a few CBCS slip-ups in 2022, I can only guess that they would allow their graders to be accurate even if they have a high volume quota that needs to be met.

Here's a 1780 Austrian Silver Thaler, one of the precursors to, and inspirations for the earliest American Silver Dollars. Don't get too excited though, this one is just a post-1850 re-strike.

And a +1 to my Raven focus.

This is the issue where Raven finds out her dark half had escaped just to become Dr. Hate.

Got these back yesterday for the Holiday promo.

This was a banana 9.8. Glad it kept the grade (I did have this one pressed).

Very excited about this one. I figured a 6.0 at best (this one was pressed, too).

This is the last one I had pressed. The rest were straight submissions that were just fun books to have signed and graded for the PC.

I will say that this one surprised me a little on the grade. I didn't see the scratches they noted, but when I got it back, you can see some small ones when you shift the book in the right light. The foil was deceptive on that one. Ah well.

Here's the rest from the Holiday promo.

Honestly, I think John Romita Jr.'s art is hit and miss, but he is one of the nicest guys I've ever met at a con.

I disassembled a couple reprints of AF 15, so I could custom frame the first Spider-Man story. This will be mounted at the entry to my Man Cave!

I think it turned out pretty awesome.

@GAC They are. I used the ToyBiz toy reprint because I didn’t want a barcode or “not for resale” in the corner.

@DWeeB1967 Thanks! If the story were much longer, it just wouldn’t have been realistic to frame it all.

I almost did “part 2” in a separate frame, but since it was an even 12 pages with the cover, I figured this layout made sense.
