Haven't posted in a while. Here's some recent pick ups along with a few submissions that have come back.

The popped staple definitely knocked it down a lot, but I knew it would.

Here's the rest of my submissions that have come back from CBCS:

This was a victim of banana-gate. It was a 9.8, but after getting out my magnifying glass, I get why it's a 9.6.

This also was a 9.8 banana. I still think it is, but I'm biased, of course.

This was a 9.6 banana. I'm ok with the 9.4, and the "Exceptional White" designation was a first for me.

This was a 9.8 banana. Glad to see it kept the grade.

And this was a 9.8 banana. Normally I wouldn't mind a 9.6, but I'm trying to get the entire Hush run in 9.8 signed by Jim Lee. So back on the hunt I go. Feel free to question my sanity. I know I do.

@Nearmint67 yeah, banana-gate has not been kind to me. It was after I did a re-holder on the X-Men 130 and it came back as a banana, I knew that place was hopeless. They truly don't care and, frankly, a lot of sellers don't care either. It is what it is, I've accepted it and moved on.

I have another submission arriving back from CBCS today that's I'm very excited about, and I've got my Holiday24 books waiting, so better things are on the horizon.

@lawguy1977 Killer books!!

Take this for what it's worth but in my opinion a 9.6 is just as good as a 9.8. I know the numbers are different and I know I'm in the minority but the .2 increments in the 9 grades is silly.

@GAC Thanks! And I don't disagree, I've always thought that about the 9.8/9.6 difference -- it's so close. I have many 9.6s that I'm super happy to have and don't care if I ever have a 9.8 for them. I remind myself all the time that any book over a 9 is still "near mint."

But, of course, my brain is obsessed with the Hush Jim Lee run at 9.8. That was my goal, so apparently I have to drive myself crazy trying to make it happen. The good news is that I'm pretty close at this point.

@lawguy1977 I know all about OCD. I have just a few holes left in my Copper Uncanny X-Men run. I wanted all of those to be 9.8. I bought an old label 9.6 from the cgc for the 153 and it makes me feel weird. I'm not sure I can do that with the rest of the missing books. I only need 152, 154, 159, and 161, assuming I keep the 153.

Also, did you see the latest banana slab pictures? If not, be glad your books only dropped one grade. The new banana books are getting mangled. Those would be lucky to come back 9.2 or 9.0.

@DrWatson yeah, you and I are definitely on the same page with the OCD. And that's awesome that you're so close to having that run done, which is pretty amazing. I've got a run of Uncanny X-Men from #129-283 along with X-Men #1-11 because I read them as a kid and was where I first came to love Jim Lee's art. Most of them aren't graded, though, and definitely not all above a 9. It's hard to get a decent picture, but this is on display in my office currently:

I did see those banana pictures, and they're brutal. You're absolutely right, my books didn't have nearly as much bends as those, thankfully. It's really, really terrible the damage they're causing over there.

This is my most recent submission. Fun books I've been wanting slabbed for awhile.

Been wanting a copy of Detective #298 for a long time, and got this in an auction last year. I had it at 3.5, so super glad to see it come back at the same and not lower. Definitely got a good deal on it.

I had this one graded at 6.0, so pretty cool to see it come back at a 7.5. Kind of surprised though, considering the scratches on the top left corner.

Had this one graded at 5.0/6.0, so was thrilled to see it come back at 6.5.

This was my one surprise. I had it at 7.0 and it came back at 6.0. Love this Adams cover, and it presents great, so no complaints.

My presser caught the color touch on the Superman #233 but couldn't remove it. I decided to have it slabbed regardless, and I'll probably sell it, if anyone's interested.

Finally, if anyone wants to explain the "cleaned cover" as amateur conservation on the LL #70, I'm all ears. I've never encountered that before, and I've been using the same presser for years with no issues. That being said, I bought the copy off of MCS where it was graded as 2.0, so pretty excited to see the grade it got.

It's in the original art, you'll see it on every copy in the HA image archives.
