For one reason or another, I skipped Kelly Thomason’s run when it came out. and wouldn’t you know, it won the Eisner award. It just arrived and it’s nice to have the full run in one trade. |

I picked up several random lots of Mad magazines at a local auction. About 60 issues, mostly late 70s to 1990s. Sorting the piles I saw nothing special until I saw a pretty rough copy of issue #48 from 1959 with 3 signatures: Bill Gaines, Al Feldstein and Harvey Kurtzman!!! Bill and Harvey's sigs are a little light. But Al's looks great. Anyone collecting EC comics and magazines (and plenty who don't) will know the significance of these gentlemen. It would have been nice to have a higher grade book and darker sigs for Bill and Harvey but I am stoked just having found this gem hiding in amongst random piles of Mad. Bill's signature is just below the issue number. Harvey signed in the blank space. (As an aside, I have a graded copy of Mad Comic #9 which is a File Copy from Harvey's personal collection. Low grade and not signed, but he was the cover artist for that issue.) |

This Mad #179 from 1975 was also in the pile of Mad magazines that I bought. This one is signed by Mort Drucker who was a Mad artist for over 50 years. Nice clean signature. Awesome! |

I picked up these great Mark Spears covers at the show that I set up at 2 weeks ago. I got a chance to read them today. The Monsters #1 he did the story and interior art too. I really liked it a lot. I plan to hunt down more of his work. I see that @OGJackster picked up some too. |

Interesting story behind this one. (1st cameo Mystique) So my buddy calls me and says he has rats. Like 8" long rats in his house. He saw one run off with a full size protein bar that he had on the counter. He saw it run off behind his hot water tank. It's a single level ranch on a crawl space. He saw big holes behind the hot water tank. He sent me two photos of these huge rat glue traps with 2 different rats he caught. He is so freaked out and has not slept in two days. So I went to help him out. We removed his water tank and I took sheetmetal and made up a nice patch and sealed the heck out of it and put the water tank back in place. He had a ziplock bag with about a dozen books that he got from his uncle. He gave me the books as he was very happy to get that hole sealed up. He has an exterminator coming over next to evaluate the situation. Unfortunately his neighborhood has been infested with rats. He is close to Detroit. My clothes went right into the washing machine when I got home. |

Mass exodus by me between 2019 and 2020. Fortunately none ever got into my house but I fought them outdoors for at least 3 years. |

For whatever reason, I've just never heard of them being a problem for anyone. Based on this picture, @DrWatson 's picture and @BrianGreensnips story of the rat carrying off a full-size protein bar I hope that I never have to. |
