| This book has a UPC stick code affixed on top of the direct market UPC code box on the front cover. This particular sticker affixed on top of the UPC direct market code box of this particular issue of Beavis And Butthead #23 is a Curtis Perodicals/Distribution sticker. RockMyAmadeus on the CGC Forums has posted about Curtis newsstand UPC code stickers explaining this in exhaustive detail explaining the only other known book with a Curtis Distribution UPC code affixed to direct market 1st print copies....this was done to fulfill reprint demand at non-direct market stores i.e. the newsstand market. I can't recall the reason offhand, wihout digging up RMA's post on Curtis Printing/Distribution stickered Superman #75's. I'll post a copy/paste of this thread onto CGC Forms and tag RMA for his feedback, later today, after I put my next 2 books into my Beinfang, doing some last week of prep for submissions to CGC and CBCS next weekend at Baltimore and this post has already taken me dang near a half hour to compose after looking for that bookmarked post by RMA from CGC's board, to no avail so far.... welp. To cap my TL; DR point, this is not just a UPC code sticker put on top of the UPC code box, as is sometimes seen on books from the late 80's to early 90's....this UPC newsstand code sticker is distinctly a Curtis Printing/Distribution sticker. I am attaching an example of a Superman #75 2nd print newsstand (Curtis Printing/Distribution sticker) from an eBay listing below, as well as a close up image of the Curtis printing/Dist. sticker on this Beavis and Butthead #23 from its' MCS listing for comparison. Mycomicshop seems to have downgraded this book at a 4.0 due to this sticker. If you look at the FC scan thru the MCS zoom view link below, you'll see it looks to be around a 6.5/7.0 mostly due to spine tics. Corners are sharp without color breaking creases. | What makes this sticker a, "distinctly a Curtis Printing/Distribution sticker"? It just looks like an easily reproduceable sticker that any scammer can place on a book to try to pump and dump. | ||

| Deleted- I will explain how to differentiate Curtis dickered comic books in more detail tonight or tomorrow For now, I will only say that stickers age like paper. This sticker has distinct aging marks. |

| It really bugs me that both CBCS and CGC look at these Newsstand stickers as a defect. I have Minions 1 from Titan in Newsstand that I'd love to submit for grading; and I don't see often if at all. But I know what will happen if I do submit and it will be a graded number I'll be quite unhappy with. So they just sit and wait and do nothing. I'll figure out what to do with them one day |

Custom UPC labels can be printed and these can be easily faked.  Aging marks won't be present on a well kept copy and that too can also be faked. |

| Alright, my memory was wrong on this “EN” notation meaning that books with stickered upc codes with “EN”, is indicative that they were Curtis books. All the Superman 75 2nd ,3rd and 4th print UPC code stickered books have “EN” within the UPC sticker. One of the CBCS forums threads in the search results showed a poster stating that no 2nd print newsstands exist of Superman 75, but DC put UPS stickers over the direct market UPC boxes to satisfy newsstand distributors. Superman 75 was immensely popular at that time, it made the news and was on a cover of Time or Newsweek at he time. The same obviously can’t be said for Beavis and Butthead 23  This Beavis is a novelty book, nothing more. |
