Marvel Overpower Insert Cards21104

Collector DoorCntyComicColl private msg quote post Address this user
Going thru my collection that has been in storage for many years, I came across an Uncanny X-men #325 (1995). Book is easily a 9.8.. but as I was going thru the pages I stumbled on what seems to be some sort of inserted bonus cards by Fleer called Marvel Overpower.

It contains a Loki card

Now I have never been into these card games so I have no idea of value but my question is how does CBCS deal with inserts like this? I certainly have no plans to remove these inserts if this impacts the grade of the book itself...

Thx!!

If they are securely attached then leave them.

If it's attached at the staple, then leave it in the book. It will be grade dinged or a notation made without it.

It is notated on the label that direct editions contain the card.

The one dilemma I had was if this card was something of value that someone would want, so would it be a good idea to encapsulate the book (meaning there is a card in there that you could never view unless you cracked the case) or keep it as raw to let the owner enjoy use of the card if this was some kind of popular game? I googled it but I don't see a whole lot of popularity for this game.

The book itself is flawless EXCEPT I just noticed a minor 1/8 inch color break tic at the top staple front cover.. this may cause it to be a 9.6... so it may be best to leave it raw... all else fails roll the dice and submit it with a 9.8 prescreen and see what happens!!

I’ve been pulling cards out common books for box labeling.

That's a pretty cool idea! Beats the duct tape and magic marker to label my boxes !!!

If the viagra is working you should be well over a 9.8. xkonk private msg quote post Address this user
My brother and I played Overpower a bit when we were younger. It's a collectable card game like Magic or Pokemon. It was fun enough but I don't know if the cards are worth anything or if it would be worth trying to track down a set to play at this point.
