It seems Beachbum Comics is gaining a reputation for not delivering the goods and not returning calls. There was a rather extensive thread on the cgc boardd concerning the implosion, but the cgc mods have deleted all of them. I guess you get protection if you're a heavy submitter or friends with the employees. If you have outstanding orders with Beachbum Comics, you might want to see about getting your money back. If you get strung out with empty promises for over a year, you can not dispute the sale with your credit card company. I think Paypal may be only six months. Forewarned is forearmed. |

More than likely not. His sales and presales are all eBay and internet/website based.

I had a similar issue with El Rey Comics. I have been emailing them for over two years for my April 2021 order. Still won't answer my emails.

I don’t know how they scenario has been playing or how far in advance the pre orders are, but being ghosted after initial follow up and especially no response for refund request; I would file a dispute (bank/credit) and call it a day. Not comic book related but I’ve had to file disputes before and it’s pretty easy (at least with my bank) if you can provide proof of attempted contact. My experience has proven no response or lack of concrete guarantee of product/service results in an immediate processing of a refund. Of the thankfully few times only one resulted in a partial refund of an online course after multiple recorded attempts to contact the instructor/institution about not being able to log in because of a payment required error. Basically saying I had not yet paid for that portion of the course. I had minimal responses saying it’s not an error their end and it must be a PayPal issue. After providing proof of payment in full and another request to have credentials restored I was ghosted. I eventually was reimbursed by my bank for the portions not completed since I had taken the prior modules (which is useless without the rest)it was not what I wanted, but there was nothing else they could do. It would have been nice to have a full refund or be able to complete the courses after rightfully being restored access. Sometimes the win is as painful as the fight. |
