The first bean haul of the season would typically be eaten but I found a pack in the freezer from last year. I’m going to need some bean recipe’s.

It wasn’t a good garlic grow. I couldn’t even make a braid to hang in the basement.

It’s been an odd year for gardens this year( at least in the Midwest) month and a half of mostly rain and clouds really screwed with a lot of plants.

Eating light tonight, because it’s too hot and humid for a heavy meal (small chicken parm, salad, and garlic bread).

I’ve never tried the scrog box technique on tomatoes but now I have. Even if all of them don’t get tall enough to go thru the wire I can tie them from above anywhere instead of just the one stake.

Do any of you guys have an enameled Dutch oven? I’m looking to get one but they range quite a bit in price. I don’t mind pony’ing up for a good one if it’s something I should really do. If a hundred dollar one works just as nice that’s cool too.

First batch of pickles and today’s cucumber haul, @HeinzDad figure we could give Doc a double batch of cucumbers for tonight’s post. 😁

There are one hundred things I thought to post, but I decided to take the high road and simply say, "No, thank you."

No, not really. I don't dislike cucumbers. They disagree with me. I like tzatziki sauce. It doesn't seem to bother me.

They can get me as well, I'll admit. I like them to much to care though.

@Rbolton and @HeinzDad - You guys are killing it with your gardens. After wet, cloudy, and cold April and May, things finally got going/growing a bit in June. But we only just picked our first cherry tomato this week. The string beans have producing for a few weeks, but everything else is just starting to get there. Good job to you both.

I’d start a thread but maybe five of us would post.

Garden Stories; tell em if you got em!

You guys ever buy ladybugs for your gardens? I’m fertilizer and pesticide free so we do once every year. A bag of a thousand is like 10 bucks and you can keep them in your fridge and release them intermittently.

I also have two more garden stories if anyone cares, lol. One about a weed and one about a pest!

Love garden stories, I have a client that has a natural fertilizer company called superpoop (worm castings) I also bury a fish carcass under each tomato plant for a slow release fertilizer. The lady bug deal is pretty cool!
