| I don't visit the CGC boards often, and I don't think I have posted there in years, but the commentary here about the new moderation there makes me wonder if they went the AI route like Facebook. Much of the randomness and inscrutability really reminds me of when the Zuckerbots were first introduced. Bad code is cheaper than a good human, anyway. |

| I don't think it's AI either. I did have one PM from the new moderator team, early on, which wasn't related to moderation activity, and it had all the characteristics of human frailty. There's a Blade Runner joke in their somewhere, probably. I won't speak of it again here, as it's not what I want to be doing, but I find the whole thing so very sad. Less than two months ago I was working with CGC Mike, putting the grading contests lists together and posting 'how to' guidance in the Q&A forum. Now all that is deleted and I'm banned. All I did was stick up for what I thought was right, in a reasonable manner. I've helped CGC in so many ways over the last 8 years, mostly behind the scenes. I'm just one of a number of people who have been unceremoniously dumped. People much more deserving of respect than me have been treated appallingly. Shame on CGC's management. It may not seen important in the context of world issues but shame on them for destroying that one tiny haven of fun where a number of our comic collecting community gathered daily. |

| It's gotten quite Draconian over there in terms of the moderation. Anything that appears to be questioning the CGC and its decisions seems to lock. I don't know how many people have been sent to banned camp lately, but the atmosphere is much heavier. The Comics General section used to range from fun to WTF, but now it just seems sad. I'll try to keep the NFL Super Pro thread going as a cover for NFL talk. I figure as long as I make a comment on the actual contents of the series, it can somehow relate to football. CBCS should put some focus on updating from a post-it note style message board to something a little more modern. Even Comics Price Guide has a forum with a better layout and it's used less than this forum. |

| @whetteon and @Get_Marwood welcome! In my personal experience, this forum has always been a great community -- always helpful, informative and fun. It's a shame to see what is happening on the other side, especially to Mike and forum members, and all it does is reveal that corporation's true colors. I used to use both companies for various reasons, but after this latest scandal and the response to it, I'm done with that malarky. Incidentally, for years, I would bring donuts on Friday. No one can be grumpy when eating a donut. (And I agree this forum board needs an update, but I'm not nearly tech savvy enough to comment on what it should be.) |
