| Hello @poka My official crime was to engage in a 'persistent agenda' against CGC. That is what my two notices said - I served a two week ban prior to the current 6 month one. None of my posts warranted that action of course - my forum questions and campaigns to have content reinstated were nothing but polite and professional - but I did send some stronger emails directly to CGC management and they likely contributed to the decision. Since CGC management sacked Mike, the approach has become hard and unforgiving. The personal touch that Mike brought has gone and the new moderation team are unknown, remote and inflexible. There are no paths to discussion, no means to appeal. Their decisions are random, illogical, inconsistent and final. It's clear that a member's posting history and loyalty to CGC play no part in their decision making. Some long-standing members have been banned, and I feel rotten for them. They've even now banned Mike for 6 months so I'm in good company. In some cases, entire posting histories have been wiped. That may be in error, as the new moderators get used to the software, or deliberate. We don't know. What I do know, is that the President of CGC, and other senior members, know exactly what is going on. I know this as I have told them, by email. Others have I'm sure. Their silence tells it's own story. They stay silent as they slowly but consistently alienate their customer base on their home turf. It's a very sad state of affairs, but there is nothing any of us can do. I run the risk of my entire history being deleted too, just by posting this here. All that work and research gone on a whim if the new moderation team decide it should be so. As far as I'm concerned, CGC are acting despicably. Or, perhaps more accurately, their leaders are. I know there are good people battling away in the company but the buck stops at the top and the top have proven themselves to be unworthy of respect. Some of the people who have been banned, or had all their Water Cooler threads deleted, lived for that forum. There will be a lot of very lonely people out there now. The forum was their gateway to the world. CGC management know this, but do nothing. They don't even have the courage to explain themselves. What was is Parker said about great power? They shame the hobby they seek to serve. |

| Loyalty should be given to people, not corporations. However, in this case, it's clear that neither person nor company appreciates it. The cgc thinks it's unsinkable. Someone needs to tell them the story about the Titanic. Personally, I'm glad I left over a decade ago. People hating one another and dissolving friendships over who one chooses to grade their comic books... it's crazy. Too much drama and mean-spirtitedness associated with the Sarasota Shit Show (nod to @Studley_Dudley) for me. Who wants to fight until the last of their joy dies? I wouldn't waste my time trying to save that sinking ship. In the immortal words of the Fine Young Cannibals, "Baby, baby, don't look back. It won't do no good. Baby, baby, don't look back. I'm gonna leave and I think that you should." |

| @DrWatson I think it was worth trying to save the places that the regulars frequented, so I had a go. There are some really good people on the CGC forum and the Invision software is very user friendly. I agree with you that there are many unpleasant people there and people who live for conflict. I just try to avoid them, and stick with the ones I get on with and like. I've always tried to post with kindness in all my threads and had built up a small, but decent following. A good crowd of 'pence' people, as I called them. It's a shame that that may now be coming to an end. | ||

The format here is rather crude and hasn’t really changed in the nearly 9 years of its existence. But it’s a decent place to hang out and talk comics with some pretty nice guys and gals. | ||
