Actually looks good - certainly better than the last attempt.

Ron Pearlman really ruined the franchise for anyone else - he nailed Hellboy in the first 2!!

I haven't read Hellboy in forever. Does this preview seem to have the same feel as the comics?

It actually looks pretty good to me!
It's got a sort of raw, indie feel to it.
less like a glossy magazine, more like a gritty B&W indie comic.
And low-key supernatural vs. Ancient Gods, Hell-on-Earth, NAZI's and Giants and Elves and whatnot ... more down-to-earth ... good old fashioned down-home country Evil for a change.
I'll watch it.

Confirmed...it was pretty decent. The low-budget is certainly clear (obviously with the bad CGI spider at the start of the movie) but for the most part it did well with what they had; ended up having good tone/mood that totally felt like a proper Hellboy comic adaptation.

It has its share of faults, but nothing that really took me out of it. Would be happy to get another few stories from the comics done like this if the budget/returns allow for it.

I still have a raw copy of SDCC #2 (1st app Hellboy in comics), that I should have pressed and slabbed during the comic boom a couple years ago when it was a $1500+ book in 9.8.

Here’s to pressing it and slabbing it within the next year, so it’ll be ready to be sold in time for the next Hellboy movie in a few years 🀣

I bought this book from Frankenstein Comics in Woodbury NJ, at least a decade ago.

No idea what it cost me, I may have pulled it out of his $2.00 or $10.00 boxes, or out of his $25 or $50 boxes, at the very most.
