| Pepe’s Pizza (at Mohegan). You must get a pie there. It ain’t the original in New Haven (which requires waiting in line for a hour or longer for) but it’s still pretty damn good. It’s New Haven style pizza without going to New Haven. I live about 15 minutes away and will drive to Mohegan for take out (or dine in) as a treat. I go for the food and shows, but not the slots. There are a lot of other restaurants and snacks there too (crispy cream, Ben and Jerry’s, a burger place next to Pepe’s I forget the name of). Check it out. I likely will not be going because I there’s not anyone I need to see or books I’m looking for…although if I can score a free ticket I may walk around. |
