Keep a lookout - Lost X-Men 1 (CBCS 4.5)20885

would be nice to have a snugger fit. Sigur_Ros private msg quote post Address this user
Can't post this at CGC so I'll post it here.
A guy I follow on IG dropped this off at Dallas Fan Expo this past Friday for a new label/reholder. Went to pick it up Sunday and was told they couldn't find it. They don't know if it was lost, stolen or given to the wrong cutomer. Apparently, he's been told 4 different stories as to what happened.

Better pictures would help, I know.
But on the very minimal chance anyone here comes across a graded copy, keep this in mind.

Ouch. I don’t live anywhere near Texas, but if I see one floating around I’ll double check the serial.

It sucks big time for sure. But how is CGC involved? I must be missing something 😕

Well (edited)! Isn't handing it off in person supposed to be safer than giving a package to a carrier?!? Sounds to me like CBCS convention security protocols need serious auditing and improvement.

Note to self...

CBCS will need to make this right which I'm sure they will. The book was in their Care, Custody and Control so ultimately I'd suspect they are responsible. Ofcourse I'd assume all video surveillance at the Con was or will be reviewed to see if they can catch the perpetrator.

Hopefully this gets resolved quickly and justly.

Sounds about right. It seems everytime I consider submitting again, another story pops up. It's been going on for over 2 years now. This is even more irritating, seeing as how it happened right near their office.

I have a friend who had the cgc and FedEx lose one of his 25 book submissions. He received notification that it was finally found back in May, about a year later.

CGC isn’t involved per se, but CBCS pulled a disappearing act like CGC did with invisible comic slabs. 🤣🤣

Comic collector: Yeah I had my invisible variant of action comics #1 submitted to be graded
CBCS: Oh yes. we decided to put it in our new state of the art invisible slabs
Comic collector: Sounds great...where is it?
CBCS: We....lost it. Don't worry we have our best employees scouring every inch of of place of business

I had an X-Men 1 that I handed off for reholdering at a show. At the time, I thought I was being extra paranoid filming myself handing it to them

(Mine was returned safely.)

when I did first submission considered grading my secret wars #8 signed. but opted not to (will next year) but I took pictures. probably worthless but might record myself handing my planned submission (nothing worth stealing but one could be mistaken as one as its a facsmile)
