How is it that comics can be graded in 1 day at FanExpo, but sending directly into the facility takes months? ![]() |

@robtmcd My guess is that because they're headquartered in Plano, they have the ability to do that just for Fan Expo Dallas.

Exactly, should HQ have more resources than a particular show. The math doesn't math for me.

HQ does have more resources than the particular show....just not proportionately so, to the incoming books.

HQ need to hire a former manager of a Chick-fil-A to fix the turnaround times. That will fix the math.

The site still says Grading. Any other time I've sent books in it goes Received >Grading >Labels >Heat Seal >QC >Shipping >Complete. I haven't received any e-mails saying my books have moved at all. I guess I'm just frustrated because I have friends who sent books in around the same time, and I see comments on here from people who's books went to grading after mine, and they've all gotten their books back already. Another friend send his books to the other guys a month after I sent this order in and he just got the shipping notification last night. |

That’s a beef I’ve had with CBCS also. That books are graded and shipped out of order. That, like non-existent customer service, should not be. So, I get you.

Hmmmm...so you guys think that a submission with Pressing and VSP (or any other different services or tiers) should go out in order of Received? So, they should hold completed orders from shipping because a previously received order isn't ready?

He just said orders are getting graded and shipped out of order. How else do you explain one order going to grading AFTER another, similarly sized order, but shipping out a week (and counting) BEFORE the first order? Let me put it to you like this: If you went to a restaurant and order a meal, then someone else came in 30 minutes later and order the same meal, but they got their meal 30 minutes before you got yours, you'd probably start asking questions, right? |

Books are not graded on a first in, first out basis. There are just too many mitigating factors that make this logistically impossible.

The restaurant is offering everyone the same service moving at approximately the same rate of speed. My last submission contained five separate invoices. Even those five invoices aren't being graded and returned in the same order they were received by CBCS. |

Quote:Originally Posted by Engstrom82 The assumptions aren't assumptions because as @DrWatson pointed out, there are way too many factors....every submission is unique, to have a "first in first out". You're also dealing with schedules of all employees and convention season, etc, etc, etc. If I'm at a restaurant and your scenario happens...what did I order vs. the other party? How big is my party vs. their party? Is it a holiday where people go out to eat...i.e. extra busy? Did a chef or sever call on sick? Too many factors you are not privy to, to make any sort of factual conclusion. |

What's your answer for that? |

If it means anything, my six books were checked in early March. Th3 seventh, I believe. I just got th3 back yesterday; no fast pass or express. Four modern books and two vintage. I hate to say it but it's more of a "they come back when th3y come back" mentality. |

Quote:Originally Posted by GAC Dude, I already said that the orders were basically identical. Same tiers, same priority, he had 2 less books than I did. I don't understand why everyone is trying to skew this by adding in make-believe scenarios and saying things like "oh, there could be all kinds of variables" when there's not. If my vintage tier, standard priority book goes to grading on the 13th, and someone else's vintage tier, standard priority book goes to grading a week later, there's not a single good reason, or variable any of you can give me for the second book shipping out more than a week before the first book. |
