Looking for price estimates and a better want list than CLZ. Leaning toward Covrprice since I use CLZ for inventorying my collection but I'm looking for both positives and negatives on the other two apps. I'm not opposed to moving my inventory if need be. The CLZ want list feels clunky so I would like a want list that is easy to look at especially when I'm at a convention. Or is there a better way to keep my want list and inventory organized that I'm missing? Any opinions would be great. |

I use Covrprice, and I like it. It works for my inventory and the wantlist looks/works just the same as the inventory. It's under $7 per month. I also have a terrible memory, so I need something to quickly look up "do I already have this?" when in a shop/con. It works perfectly for it. The price guide aspect is not always spot on. They take sold prices from eBay and other sources, but they're for the most part in the general ballpark. Hope this helps.

I use Covrprice and quite enjoy it. Below are MY "Pros" and "Cons" Pros: • Has pricing for both Raw and Graded books • Shows LOTS of variants including Whitman and CPV • Has a great monthly fee in case you only want to try it our for a couple of months • Informative market reports • Gives recent "hot" sale values, but also gives a more realistic FMV value • Lots and lots of neat site features that'll you'll have to explore for yourself Cons: • Doesn't list values on Signature slabs unlike GoCollect • The site can be a little slow to load because of their huge database • When you look up the value of a book, you have to "scroll forever" to get past the variant covers first before getting to the values (more of a pet peeve) • They have a web site, but no app. • It would be nice if the site had a toggle for other currencies to give an idea of value after any exchange rates (e.g. Canadian buying from US sellers) |

Ummm... excel? I converted from Lotus 123 way back and am firmly locked into excel - no desire to re-enter 9500+ comics!! Plus..... @x860x - you get the benefit of buying multiples of a book you like - lol!!! Wondering what the benefit of having a live app is..... Like I don't care what my collections potential FMV is - it is both worthless (until I sell) and priceless (until I sell) I know what my 'keys' are and once in a while a book I thought was a dollar book turns out to be worth $50, $100, $200 etc....like maybe if the app gave me an easy way to sort my books by FMV value or a warning when 1 spiked so I'd know to pull it and sell it?? that could be useful...but not for a fee as that would soon erode any profit, one little monthly charge at a time! I just kind of watch on this site and the general chatter or new to my collection etc. etc. to see if maybe I should move on something. |

I had a notebook with hand written and crossed out numbers for years! Then moved to excel, but I think the convenience of having it on my phone and desktop where it shows covers and variants is worth the $7 per month. And even with plugging my collection in, I still find a way to buy doubles and triples of a book, @KatKomics. All of these sites/apps will have pros and cons. I've found one that works nicely for me. Try one out. Most have a pay by month subscription, so you won't be out very much if it isn't what you're looking for.

@MurrayC @x860x @KatKomics @Nearmint67 Thank you all for taking the time to answer. I'm going with Covrprice. I'm not a seller but would like to have some idea occasionally of the value. @x860x I to have a terrible memory and whenever I'm in a shop or at a convention my plan(s)completely go out of my brain (squirrel). @katkomics I can absolutely agree with excel but I simply don't want it use it. I want a GUI interface. @MurrayC Thanks for the break down. The lack of an app was almost the reason I looked over covrprice. @Cerebus3000 First time I've seen Milton mentioned in a comic book post. Well done. Thanks again. |
