Thought I'd share with you guys. Removed the cheap synthetic hair on the original and replaced it with real hair. Opened the shape of the eyes more along with the mouth. Completely repainted the mask using acrylic paints mixed with latex (airbrush & brush). The hair was actually harder than I thought it would be. (Reworked/Rehauled mask is on the Left, the Original on the Right.) Hope you guys enjoy. ![]() ![]() ![]() Additional Pics: ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() |

@HulkSmash Yeah. You can buy all the parts separately, but purchase the real items, not a cheap "Halloween costume" as those materials are always cheapy made etc. Like the Myers Mechanic Suit buy it from a company that actually sells the real suits & the cost is about the same actually. clickable text or clickable text As for the Mask, you can purchase the 1978 Halloween Mask from clickable text and all you might have to do is get some dark brown or black liquid shoe polish and make it into a wash by adding 50% water to it and paint it all over the mask, and dab it with a towel in areas you dont want to be darkened but leaving it in areas as the mouth, a little under the eyes, cheek bones and the neckline., or black or dark brown acrylic paint mixed with latex and water, mixing all three parts together with 25% paint, 25% latex, and 50% water. Do the same as stated above. Then purchase the fake knife from clickable text and add fake blood/gore to it if ya want. So, yeah I just mapped out a perfect Myers costume for ya above. ![]() This is what I did for my Leatherface outfit. I bought a real butchers apron, as the costumes aprons you can buy are cheap materials. About the same cost as well. Just like the shirt. I bought a real vintage dress shirt, and I dyed the shirt with tea to give it a grimy, sweaty, weathered and dirty look. Originally, the shirt was White. I still gotta darken areas like the neckline and underarms with coffee to stain it darker. On the real butchers apron I will use the fake "permanent blood" and with my airbrush, I will add a dirty look to it by using latex paints so it sticks and stays. But you can see the actual real items are quality, unlike the cheap costumes ya can buy for about the same price. Here are example pics of the actual vs the fake props. Real is on the Left (Non-Modified as of yet) VS bought Costume on the Right. ![]() Fake Perma-Blood can be bought at clickable text ![]() Quality differences between the two: Bought Costume with digital printed blood and dirt: ![]() Real Rubber Butchers Apron: ![]() Shirts. The Left is a real shirt, the one on the Right is a Costume bought with everything "printed" on it instead of it being actual. ![]() So, yeah, always go real with your costumes if you are serious about it, or want it to look as authentic as possible. |
