Yes @DrWatson is correct. I received a notice that my books were moved to pressing. Yet no notice of verification. Just trying to figure it all out. 🤷‍♂️

I think they get pressed first, but I could be wrong. It seems as though every order I have sent in goes from receiving to pressing.

Hmm... Moderated again! figment private msg quote post Address this user
Our experience is Signature Verification books first go to state Imaging/SP where they sit for maybe 30 days. Then they go to Pressing afterward. It occurs to me that they might press the book anyway if you paid for it (even if verification fails) but would not then do encapsulation. Someone with knowledge of the inner workings of the line would have to say for sure.

I don't believe this....and I know you don't care that I don't believe this. GAC private msg quote post Address this user
I'm almost certain Signature Verification is done before Pressing...it wouldn't make sense for it to be done afterward.

I checked with the powers that be and you guys are correct. Signature verification is first and then pressing.

There is a book in ebay for 675$ the seller is Canadian. Anybody know how bad the tariffs will be? I asked seller, but apparently they don't know.

Use regular mail. It's not as bad as FedEx or UPS and it is all paid up front. Try using the postage calculator from either Canada Post or USPS.

On the ToTS 78 mask Whats the best way to style the hair, fix the hair line, and weather it to replicate the original? I may never wear it again but it bothers me😂 ive found alot of info and fir something I’ve never done im skeptical of “my way” vs “the right way”.

Something I don't like is when in this thread, a person asks a question and it is never answered. Because I feel that way I will respond to you question, even thought I like in California.

No, I am not going, but I've heard it's great! is it?

Now I have a question, how many slabbed comics can I buy from comiclink and not generate a second shipping box? I don't want to pay double shipping costs 'cause I went over by one book.

I don't know. I have never "won" with the Shipping Game where ComicLink is concerned... well, maybe once, but was because I wasn't charged sales tax on a fairly large order.

I haven’t gone to it for a couple of years, but I used to enjoy going to it in the past. I actually prefer small shows now, rather than “conventions.” The small shows seem to be more about comics, while at many of the big ones, comics are only a small part of the exhibits. Prices also tend to be somewhat more reasonable at the smaller shows.

Thanks for replying and asking.

I'm pretty sure it's a fixed number and I believe I read a statement on the website stating how many books one can get in a shipment for a specific shipping cost, but I can't seem to find it on their website. It's not that "user friendly"

1 to 3 slabs is like $35, BUT the value of the books can push the shipping charges higher depending on the insurance for the item(s) won, e.g. I had a single book result in a $75 shipping charge because of the insured value.

75 bucks shipping is expensive, that must mean it's an awesome book though.

I'm going down to Detroit in a couple of weeks to watch the Lions utterly destroy the Giants. My question is ... we're taking my car and I made a deal with my friend, I'll drive there and he'll drive back (sucka! I get to drink at the game!) Do I have to call my insurance (Progressive) to let them know that he'll be driving my car home from Detroit?
Post 971 IP   flag post

You might as well call them. I can't imagine it'll take more than 5 minutes to get a straight answer. You don't need to let them know specifically about him driving, just ask what the policy says about other people driving your car on rare occassions.

Not to scare you, but working in insurance at one point, it's always good to remember that as the owner of the vehicle your insurance is primary. If your friend was in a serious accident, his policy would be secondary, but if both his and your limits don't cover the damages, you could be sued personally for anything additional.

I once had a claim where a guy let his neighbor borrow his car. His dumbass of a neighbor, who didn't have a car of his own or any insurance decided to race the guy next to him. He ended up plowing into another car, which caught fire, and seriously burned all 4 occupants. I don't know what happened in the end, but I know he had extremely low coverage. Him and his neighbor will probably be making payments to the victims for the foreseable future.

Anyway, enjoy the game

I remember 15 years ago living in Australia, the shipping cost was one to three books $75, regardless of value. I think I won two books at the time.

With the purchase price and shipping cost I think I may have to die with the books before I can sell them and actually break even. lol

$75 was a nice tip to the company shall we say.

Even heritage had troubles at the time getting shipping charges to $30

PRESSING QUESTION: This is a $600 book in 9.8, the 2nd and 3rd picture show tiny bends in the corners (NO color break). The question is, can a lenticular cover be pressed? I'm thinking no but, I thought I'd ask.

No. The last one ended October 31st with receipt by November 10th. They did have one for Black Friday last year.

@OGJackster needs to send a PM to someone like @CFP_Comics. He'll likely get a quicker response.

I'm not sure the current head presser for CBCS frequents these boards.
