F4 was good. The scale might feel better on a movie screen. If you want a different recommendation, I saw Splitsville yesterday and it was very funny.

Do they make a Trivial Pursuit type game about comic books?

Does anyone know where the "Encapuslate even if signature fails" option is.

I'm sending in handful of books with an order for verified signature and if it doesn't pass, I don't want them to be graded. I seem to remember a check box with the signarute section, but can't seem to find it in the order process.

There was a Marvel MCU version...that might be as close as you can get.

From this thread, CBCS will no longer encapsulate books when the signature fails.

But, nope, they wouldn't see things my way.

their new policy makes the box moot.

When I say argued, I mean presented my view. I don't like arguing with people who cannot change policy and are just doing their job."

Yes, I have this one too (without the toy). It's a UK comic book, so it's entirely newsprint and much larger format.

Most of the UK comics from around this time were in this large format, they were meant to be like newspapers where you read them and then dispose of them...Other comics for kids were done weekly (Beano / Dandy etc...) so the presses were setup for this format and disposable style of comic book.

I found this book in a warehouse sale. It has no recent sales. I think 3 copies are on the census. But I’m not signed up to any online price guides to see older historical sales.

Here’s what AI told me.

Anyone able to look up some sales and help me get an idea what I should list it for if I choose to sell?

@Drogio - Go Collect says that there are 0 graded copies on the census for that variant, so therefore they have nothing to calculate a FMV from.

Interesting. For some reason it’s saying these are two sales when I get to this screen.

@Drogio - When I click on that variant, I get no sales. But when I used your link, I can see the two sales - weird. The 2020 sale was $70 and the 2019 sale was $60. Both were 9.8 signed copies (2 signatures).

Was thinking of getting rid of my graded dreck. What's the best way to ship bulk slabbed books? Is there a specific box that would be best suited for this? I was thinking maybe 50 books divided into a few boxes....

I actually posted this earlier in the GI Joe thread, but as nobody has responded to the question, I thought I would post it here, as I am curious:

Here is the thing that amazes me. Almost every one of the pieces in that auction, are Factory Sealed. I know if I had received, for instance, that GI Joe glider for Christmas, birthday, or whatever, I would have almost immediately opened that box, put that bad boy together, and ran outside to fly it. Apparently, there are 6 graded and encased examples of factory sealed units. How? And on the action figures, it’s the same. I ask, back in the 70’s, 80’s, or even the 90’s, did any of you get these toys and just not open them up? Seriously, if you are one who didn’t open it, why? I just can’t fathom it.

All of my action figures were amalgamated together, blown up, melted etc. There is still a Millennium Falcon at the bottom of the pond behind my parents house, none of my toys as a child remained in the package.

@Scifinator - As a kid growing up in the 1960’s and 1970’s, toys were meant to be played with. My GI Joes, Matchbox cars, Tonka trucks, Super Balls (seriously, that’s what they were called), Slinkys, Aurora models, BB guns, etc. were all played with until they broke or were lost. Unfortunately, even comics that I owned from this time period, were not treated as collectibles at that time.

You seem to be suggesting a lot of those products, including video games, vhs tapes, etc. have been repackaged to appear to be unopened. I have to say that's my gut feeling as well. How hard could it be to repackage those things with similar/original manufacturing equipment and supplies?

@flanders - actually, wasn’t thinking that or suggesting that at all. That would suggest that AFA wasn’t proficient at the inspections and certification.

I am just flummoxed that kids didn’t open their toys back then.

Maybe it was mom or dad or the grandparents hiding them away???

Why is it that the offer is higher than the original price??? Clearly it's a mistake but is it the Seller who made an error or is the seller trying to pull a fast one? or is it Ebay that is having the issue?
BTW this is not the first time I've seen this, not even from the same seller.

Can anyone tell me if I am just causing problems for myself by submitting these 2 books? What should I expect?
I would include the letter explaining the error on Venus Domina. CBCS has no error edition on their census. The Back Issues is not on the census either.

Really, no one here has ever sent CBCS an error book that they have no previous experience with?
Also no one has sent CBCS a book that has never been graded by them before?
Should I expect weeks-months long delays, emails back & forth, or they’ve been around for years and it should go smoothly 🤷‍♂️
