Over 250 books submitted to CBCS within the last year with none of them damaged, residing in better holders, looking fabulous with the new labels, and no shitshow drama surrounding my submissions.

None were modern.

I had email correspondence with CGC and assurances on there being no problems. No idea if it made a difference.

My next submission may go to CBCS or it may go to CGC.

@ComicNinja0215 so as long as someone out there has had luck, you should overlook the thousands of books damaged and CGC's lack of care or respect for people's property and the comic book hobby?

They're the epitome of what's wrong with American business.

Look at the history of CBCS’s ultimate owner(s) and come back with a relative assessment of who epitomizes what. Not to mention the many problems CBCS has faced and the current state of its business. I suspect there is as much “inward” contemplation on that state today as outward, blaming sheeple customers.

Frankly I feel like customers are generally stuck between a hard turd and a coprolite.

Instead of paying twice for two books, once to the cgc and then to CBCS to fix the problems, why don't you submit four books to CBCS and save time, money, and heartache?

There is always some dice rolling when submitting books for grading.

For CGC you may end up with bent books. Higher likelihood than CBCS.

For CBCS you may end up with books slabbed by a company that isn’t around in five years… higher likelihood than CGC.

Just my opinion. There is always risk, individual decision on assessing what the universe of risks looks like and the likelihood of those risks (and severity of impact).

Good lord....some people here need their heads examined.

What's the definition of insanity?....something about same repeated actions expecting different results?

Anyway...no matter to me.....I'll just wait for the threads to appear in 2 months or so about how cgc messed up their books and how they've sworn off cgc for 10th time again.

If you keep posting completely false, fake news stuff like this, guess who else might not be around 😉

Criticizing CBCS is fine, and God knows they been deserving of it over the years, but posting blatant lies that might impact business is crossing the line. This isn't directed just at @Davethebrave but to everyone on the forum

Between the current turn around time there and the price; It's easier to send any books here. It's a five or six dollar difference but even still. The shipping here is cheaper as well.

The folks at cgc and people submitting to them have been saying things like this since Borock left cgc to start cbcs.
No one gave cbcs a chance. but 11+ years later, they are still kicking. With a far better product.
If you have not checked out the latest holder, you are missing out.

Everyone is entitled to their own opinion of course.
But the product itself is better here than across the street.

Better by miles...so much better that I don't think CGCs product even qualifies....seriously. What the purpose of the hard shelled slab? To protect the book....CGCs torture device does the EXACT opposite...are CBCS and CGC even selling the same product? CBCSs works exactly as intended....does cgcs?

@The_Watcher

I apologize - and I considered my wording before posting it… knowing I was potentially crossing a line. I want to be clear, I am not saying I expect that to happen… but we are talking about risks as though they are certainties here. There is always a risk a business won’t exist in the future - just like there are risks that things get damaged, lost etc. I dislike the (ignorant) implications (or outright statements) that people making a decision one way or the other are stupid, ignorant… sheep.

Now, despite my apology and rationale, I would appreciate it if you can:

A) delete my posts above - no issues from me and I appreciate how much more tolerant this forum is than the “other guy’s” forum

B) ban me from this forum. Probably for the benefit of most ;-)

For B) let me know any process on my side to fully remove my profile if you cannot do it easily on your side.

Edit: to clarify, you don’t need to ban me … just account removal / deletion. I cannot find a way to do it through the profile settings. Thank you very much.

Cheers!

@Davethebrave Hate to see you leave Dave. You have shared valuable insights in the past.
Don't leave because you got a verbal hand smack.
Your a big boy. Buck up....

Most have known you are partial to cgc, for monetary reasons.
But I say as a collector and a seller, to each his own.

I have had my share of dislikes for both companies. And I understand people buy and or collect for different reasons.

The other day I was visiting with Borock, and I told him, unlike many other collectors, I don't look for a certain book, I look for a certain grade or condition of a book, seeking the best examples when and where they present themselves. Online, yard sale, thrift store or wherever comics show up, I want the best version of that item.

Similarly, I want the best version in protection of said comics.
And that is hands down CBCS. If people could see this product (holders/slabs) from this perspective, many more people would be using CBCS as well.
But instead, many view the company for preference and not the product.

But if you do decide to vamp, peace be to you and blessings in your endeavors.
