It's not overly important but I got my first week of comics from MCS and figured I'd share my experience since a few lads helped me out. I ordered the new releases last Wednesday evening and they arrived today. I paid 9 dollars shipping which came out to be around 1.20 a book. I can afford that when they all come bagged and boarded in the typical MCS packaging I can re use. I ordered today at 9 am to make sure they are only a week late and I received a shipped email by 3:30 pm. I never figured I could like MCS more than I already did but I was wrong.

How did Will Ferrell become a successful actor? Just about everything he's in is as stupid as hell.

Elf sucks, Frank the tank isn’t that funny, never seen Night at the Roxbury’s. Alex Trebeck was funny but Step Brothers wins. |

Talladega nights, wedding crashers, Stanger then fiction is solid. Plus the others that have been mentioned. This slander is unfounded and insane. The pay pal commercials are like Kevin hart credit card commercials, wack as hell.

I don't know. Beauty is in the eye of the beholder. I really like the Greg Land art on the Wolverine 55 variant cover, but isn't he known as the light box king? Bill S. killed the New Mutants title for me with his kinetic schizophrenic art style and that crap was all hand drawn. I love early Kirby art and all the Bronze stuff seems on point. Ditko's art was always anemic. A lot of the Copper art was really good. It's hard to beat Paul Smith. Late Copper starts churning out some real crap though. JR JR anyone? |

Is this cgc label the very first cgc label? If not, does anyone have an example of one?![]() |

It's close, if it isn't. It was red for Modern. You could check the grade date, but the cgc recently removed that field from the certification look up... For nefarious reasons, in my opinion. |

According to Google....still looking for a picture: The first CGC graded comic book was Walt Disney Comics & Stories #1 (Dell Publishing, 1940) – CGC Serial #0000001001 (Invoice 0000001, Item 001), originally graded November 9, 1999. This might be it but my eyesite is not what it once was. ![]() |

@Pre_Coder It's a stretch for sure but like Borock said...what's the highest grade it can be and still be correct? I've always liked that philosophy...not sure it applies here though but maybe.

@Pre_Coder - Different grades for different eras. A modern in that condition would probably get a 5.5, a copper would be like a 6.5, a silver would be around a 7.5, and therefore a GA book… That book also looks like it would benefit, at least in appearance, by a press.

DrWatson private msg quote post Address this user
With a press and the cgc grading standards of today, that would be at least a 9.2.

Is there a standard number of pages for a '70s magazine? (Tales of the Zombie, Vampirella, etc) Related question: For said mags, is 2 the standard number of staples? |

Quote:Originally Posted by Gaard The magazines in the 70s have 3 staples like Tales of the zombie Page numbers vary. Monsters unleashed had 66 pages and so did space 1999 While vampire tales had 74 pages. I think in general between 60-80 pages depending on the publisher and the book itself. Page numbers don't seem to be universal like standard comic books. |

So. My brother has decided he wants to create a home theater setup. We traveled most of FL today to collect pieces to his stereo puzzle. Does anybody know if it's a fact you need to match front speakers with center channel with same brand and series? I read in a few places that is a myth that gets perpetuated a lot, but the reality is mixing brands is fine. What say you? |
