@OGJackster needs to send a PM to someone like @CFP_Comics. He'll likely get a quicker response.

I'm not sure the current head presser for CBCS frequents these boards.

@DrWatson are you sure about receiving by the tenth? For some reason I was thinking the 15th and was going to send my 3rd group in tomorrow morning. Now I can’t seem to find anything about it. 🤷‍♂️

I'm pretty sure it was to be postmarked by Oct. 31st and received by Nov. 10th, but I could be wrong. You would have to ask Cody to be sure.

Does anyone know of a good way to clean, polish, or display a piece of petrified wood?

AI says:

To clean petrified wood, first wash it with soap and water and scrub with a soft brush. For tougher stains or mineral deposits, soak it in a weak acid like diluted vinegar, then rinse thoroughly. To polish, use progressively finer grits of sandpaper (wet or dry) by hand or with a Dremel, finishing with a polish for a mirror shine, or simply buff with a soft cloth after cleaning to bring out its natural luster. Display your piece on a stand or use it as a decorative accent.
Cleaning
Basic wash: Gently wash the piece with warm water, a mild soap, and a soft brush or toothbrush to remove loose dirt.
Tougher cleaning: For calcium deposits or other stubborn grime, soak the wood in a solution of diluted white vinegar for a few hours until the fizzing stops. More stubborn deposits might require a stronger acid like muriatic acid, but this is dangerous and requires proper safety precautions.
Rinsing: After any chemical treatment, rinse the piece thoroughly with water to remove all residue.
Polishing
For a simple shine: After cleaning, wipe the piece with a soft cloth. A light buffing with a soft cloth can bring out its natural luster.
For a high gloss:
Sandpaper: Use a series of wet or dry sandpaper grits, starting with a coarser grit and moving to much finer grits (1200 or higher) for a polished surface.
Tools: A Dremel tool can speed up the process, but use with caution and wear a dust mask to avoid silicosis. A vibratory flat lap is an alternative for large pieces.
Display
Showcase its natural beauty: Many people prefer to leave their petrified wood in its natural state, using it as a decorative element or even turning it into a water fountain.
Use a stand: A simple stand can highlight the piece's shape and colors.
Integrate into décor: Place it on a shelf, table, or in a planter for a unique decorative accent.

Personally, like a vintage coin, I would just leave it as it is.

Over the years I have accumulated say a 1-2000 trading cards. Can anyone recommend an accurate/ decent app for non sports TCGs I tried pricecharting, but ended up typing my weird cards in even Marvel,DC,& Valiant.

For tracking and managing collections of non-sports TCGs, Collectr, the TCGplayer App, and ManaBox are highly recommended for their accuracy, scanning capabilities, and support for multiple games.
Top Recommendations
Collectr: This app is praised as a "next-generation portfolio manager" that values your collection like a stock portfolio. It tracks the prices of major TCGs like Magic: The Gathering, Pokémon, Yu-Gi-Oh!, and Disney Lorcana. It pulls pricing data primarily from TCGplayer and sometimes averages with eBay sales data, providing generally accurate market values.
TCGplayer App: Directly linked to the vast TCGplayer marketplace, this app offers "unparalleled speed and accuracy" in scanning cards and tracking their real-time market prices. It is a reliable choice for the games listed on its marketplace.
ManaBox: Recommended specifically for Magic: The Gathering, this app is noted for its excellent scanning and collection management features, including deck building tools. Users appreciate its clean interface and accurate price tracking.
Shiny: This app offers fast and accurate scanning for a variety of TCGs, including Pokémon, MTG, Yu-Gi-Oh!, Disney Lorcana, and One Piece. It provides real-time and historical prices and allows for managing unlimited items.

I wouldn’t know. Maybe the same or similar as rocks/crystals? Its already preserved; maybe light pressure wash to remove surface dirt?

I haven't tried cleaning it yet, but I am thinking a little Dawn in some warm water and a toothbrush. I used to clean mom's wedding ring for her with a paste toothpaste and a toothbrush when she wanted to see it sparkle. So, maybe that as well.

Does anyone here know if CBCS will grade Golf Digest magazines. They're not really digests, only slightly smaller than a typical mag (8 x 10.5 x .25)
