By no means a rare book but it was great to finally meet Stan a few years back in Philly and get this signed. Perfect placement I might add.

I had no way of knowing that 9.8 graded copies signed by Adam Hughes weren't what you were looking for. drchaos private msg quote post Address this user
Let's see what else is in the longbox:

@KingNampa there is no more racist cover or comic ever made IMHO than this one. If you get a chance try and look inside one. Just take a read of the back cover pic to give you am idea. 1944 highest.

@Watcher - these two scans are for you. Squint a little when you look at them.

love those early Archie's. Especially that 9.2 from 1951.

Atomic age books in NM always get me.

This one was recently graded and they sent a free scan. Some books just defy logic.

@the420bandito yes when they had the gallery up they would give a free scan to the owner if thwy chose your book to be in their gallery. I don't think they are doing it anymore since the whole migration amd no gallery thing.
I used to get several scans per order for free. It sucks they don't seem to be sending free scans anymore. Which leads me to my next questions. Does that mean they aren't selecting comics for the gallery currently until it's back up again?

@earthshaker01 It's interesting to look back and see how the culture was back then. I like the WWII covers with Nazi/Jap Characters as well. Like Superman #17. Little kids reading about how they can contribute to the war effort. Weird to imagine.

@drchaos - really liking those Archies. I know I had a few from the 1950's, but I haven't seen them in so long, I must have traded them away. And that Spectre #1 is hard to find in higher grades, I know (and now I'm a little jealous too).

So I hear this book is pretty special. Some SOTI reference book. You guys probably no more than me. I'm not into comics.like that where I know a ton.
Anyhow, no that I have mastered pressing and cleaning I will be working on this book. I feel it's a grail in a way.

@earthshaker01 - very nice! Accoring to the Guide, it was not only used in Seduction of the Innocent, but also mentioned in Parade of Pleasure. Throw in a story titled "Murder, Morphine, and Me" and what's not to like?

@esaravo you won't believe this but this came out of a very small collection I bought from some guy that was passing through a city and stopped at a garage sale. Saw a box that said Auntie'S funny books. Had about 20 comics in there this being one of them. Bought the box from him for 100 he had paid 10 for it.

So I started slabbing a little over two years ago when I brought some books to the RICC and sat down and talked to Steve P. and Tim B. at the CBCS table. Before I did that, I saw that a RI dealer that I knew was set up right near CBCS, so I stopped there first and showed him what I was thinking about submitting for grading and slabbing. He immediately offered me $150 on the spot for the book shown below. I was tempted, but I'm glad I submitted the book to CBCS anyway.

This is a toughie to find. It's just a hair to think for cbcs to encapsulate. Looks like I am forced to use cgc for a few things from time to time.
