Well, if she were a human, she'd probably be legally blind, but I still let her think she's in charge. 🫡

Even though my wife is in AZ living and working, as well as rescuing cats while I’m getting the house moved, I’ve been busy with cats too.

This guy has been coming around for a couple months, but he’s trap smart. I got him to trust me enough to where he walked right into the house yesterday to eat soft food I prepared. It’s been nasty cold the last few days, including high winds yesterday. He’s in our spare room now…he won’t go back outside now that he’s inside.

He’s a long-hair Russian Blue, but he’s got attitude. He’s not full feral…I have petted him a few times. I think he was treated badly and he left home. I’ll work with him and get him checked for a chip. Odds are he doesn’t have one, which means he’ll go to AZ with me. Feral cat support in Kingman is so much better. Where we are in Colorado, it’s damn near non-existent.

UPDATE: This handsome boy actually belonged to neighbors a few houses down that are fairly new to the area. It’s a good thing my wife has an online network and saw that they had posted on FB about this guy. I had him comfortable in our Colorado home during a nasty few days of cold, snowy weather. They were very happy to have him back. 👍👍

This guy has been pretty much dormant for well over a month now. He went from shedding into brumation/hibernation all at once. Eating anything has been rare to the point where we have misted him a few times to make sure he is hydrated.

The missus and I have a feral cat that’s been coming around for about a year. The past few months, between moving trips, I’ve tried to trap it so I could get the hell out of Colorado and be with my wife in AZ. This feral cat was the last hold out, and the trap wasn’t working. He would eat the food without setting off the trap.

Because of a few days of nasty cold weather that’s moving in, I tried one more time in order to get this kitter indoors. I used Temptations treats, which I haven’t tried before. Within 30 minutes, BAM!!! This was Thursday night.

He’s pudgy, which tells me we might have been his main source of food because we set up an outdoor shelter for cats and made sure there was food in it every day. He freaked out in the spare room, ruining the blinds, but he’s been calm for about 24 hours. He/she is hiding in a box I put in the room. Now, we just ride out the next 3 or 4 days until I can get him in to be fixed.
