Planning a Garage Sale and putting out a couple of long boxes for sale. Not doing anything major, just the stuff I don't think I can move on EBay. Should I price the books at the current value of the book, or should I price them for cheapskate bargain hunters? For instance I waws going to try to move the Sawn comics (90s) that I have. I don't have a lot, and I weeded out what I can sell on Ebay (1,3,4,8,9) which I could probably get $10 for on Ebay. I was going to price the rest for sale at $5 at the garage sale. Beat up books I can sell for a dollar, but books from the late 80;s and beyond I don't want to list a just a dollar because if I paid more than a doll, I want more than a dollar out of them. I'm not looking at anything too crazy just $2.00 and $3.00 depending on cover price. any thoughts? Suggestion are welcome. |

Make the dollar books $2 unless they buy 5. At 5, they're a dollar each. At 10, they're 75 cents per. Bulk pricing. https://forums.redflagdeals.com/what-do-you-call-more-you-buy-more-you-save-2228380/ |

If you really wanna move them, Like sets, put in a single bigger bag with one price tag. Others, buy little cheap round 1 inch color stickers and place on the covers of the bags. Make a price key to go along with the color stickers. Example, Orange = $2... Green = $3 etc. Then make a sign, "entire box for $--" then set your price for each long box for the "bargain hunters" at a slight lower price for purchasing in bulk rather than individually.

General advice: Be prepared for hagglers. In my experience, people who shop Garage sales are looking to get stuff as cheaply as possible. So, be open to negotiation.

I have garage sales all the time. The direct one-to-one transfer of cash is ideal for me. Yes - be prepared to haggle. What I do is price at FMV at Garage sale #1 in the year .... let all that stuff go 1st. Then I lower the prices at each subsequent Garage sale I have throughout the year. By the end of the year you'll be left with a box of some serious drek that I tend to entertain offers for entire boxes by that point. I feel this approach is the best balance between maximizing funds and getting rid of the damn stuff that I truly want to get rid of and not take up space in my basement anymore. (90s image, beat up stuff, crummy indies, etc..) |

To answer your question, no, this is not where the comics go to die. | MutantMania private msg quote post Address this user
We have a community garage sale every 6 months. I always have about 5 - 10 boxes of $1 books and 1 box of "priced as marked" I never put any really high dollar stuff out As others have said garage sale people are usually trying to get stuff on the cheap. |

People are going to ask for deals regardless of how you price them, so prepare yourself to say no if you're going to feel bad about it later.

@MutantMania weird. When I answered you, I checked my CLZ app on my phone. This is the picture it has listed for the first print. You are correct, though, because I just went to check it on Mycomicshop.com where it only shows gold logos. Now I |
