Damnation Alley,... again. After some time of course, but always a good reflect.

Watched a fair number of movies on my flights back but nothing to write home about. The only one I hadn't seen before was Ghostbusters Frozen Empire. It was fine.

I forgot, I also watched Transformers Rise of the Beasts. Me forgetting that I watched it tells you what you need to know.

looks like the worse thing ever....did they not watch or understand the original movie (which I have the Criterion Edition!)

I hate everything about this

It's from Taika and Jemaine, and I really like both of them, but "Time Bandits" isn't "Our Flag Means Death". The original Time Bandits is perfect and there's no way to recapture the absolute terrifying, intriguing weirdness of it again.

Maybe there's a younger audience unfamiliar with the source material? It may be a more (genuinely) kid-friendly rough take on the concept.

But going Narnia through your wardrobe is very different than having a knight on horseback suddenly running roughshod through your room.

@KCBatmanFan I remember watching the film with my dad when it first came out - it was marvelous
A film with a lead about the same age as me - unheard of really back then - and silly dwarves
AND Kenny Baker!

Super happy I don't have Apple TV so I don't need to watch this but at the same time saddened that this even exists to cheapen and degrade what was a perfect self contained film...with no need for a sequel...40+ years later

I remember going to see it with my Dad as well. It was one of the first movies I saw that was so unique and uncertain and weird and challenging. I was 10 when it came out and I was fascinated by just about everything in it. Can you imagine a movie with the original ending coming out now?

I watched Manhunter (1986) for the first time yesterday. Just never got around to it before. Thoroughly impressed. I’ve always loved Michael Mann’s work, but this solidifies that his early stuff was next level. Thief (1981) is still my favorite.
