Last year I sent my books to Richard Henn and he got them signed by steranko. But Dr Watson seems to have conflicting thoughts on henn's reputation.

Full disclosure, I just had another set of books sent to henn for William shatner signing.

I have a bunch of Comics and Paper backs signed by Jim back in 98 and 99 at SDCC. All free! Last time he was signing in SoCal was at Cal Comic show in 2020 and I believe he was charging $20.
He is the epitome of Cool.

Jim is a great hobbyist as well as a good friend.
He spends sooooo much time talking with the collectors in line to meet him! His sig price is worth less than spending the money on the time he talks with you!
Jim loves our great hobby and the time he spends with you.....

He’s one of the few remaining old-school giants of the industry. If you get the chance to meet him, do not hesitate. The line will be long and move very slowly, but he is well worth the wait. As others have said, he enjoys seeing his fans as much as they enjoy seeing him. Ask him a question, and he will give you a well thought out response. When he signs a book, he gives thought to exactly where and how big for his signature. Love this guy and his work, and his life story is absolutely amazing too. An absolute must see.

He’s a little guy with a lot of energy. And with that hair, I sometimes picture:

Being one of the last remaining giants of the industry and someone whose art I admire immensely is why I would like to get more books signed by him and why I am looking for an avenue to make this happen. If anyone knows how I can get a couple of signatures from him or if he is even doing signature events anymore, I would appreciate the help/advice.

Quick search shows these upcoming shows where he is scheduled to be. Sure there is a facilitator who will be there to assist.

As stated above by many....

$50 US an item

Don't window box or window bag your book. He knows EXACTLY where and which color to sign each cover...

Will talk endlessly to each fan for as long as they want. This is great when you're at the front of the line, but pick your time when the line is shorter as it can be a bit of a wait.

Last time we saw him, there was a lady at his booth trying to convince people in line to buy a COA sticker....Saw someone buy and put a holo sticker on a high grade King Size Special Hulk #1...almost shed a tear. To each their own.

The two handed hand shake he does really makes you feel appreciated as a fan...

Two tips from my experience: Make acquaintance with the person behind you and in front of you in line. You can take turns leaving the line to explore the show, only one of you needs to stay in the line. When it's your turn to stay in the line, it's kind of fun to just watch him interact so graciously with the person standing in front of him, treating them as if they are the only other person in the room.

A few years back they offered tickets at my local convention to have dinner with Mr. Steranko - and get 3 items signed for free.
I think maybe there were 20 of us? Was amazing - great fun to hear his tales up close and to ask questions etc. If anyone ever gets the chance you have to do it!

Having a book signed by one of your favorite artists is great, but the experience of meeting that person face-to-face, shaking their hand (that created all that fantastic artwork), talking to them, telling them how much their work meant/means to you, hearing their stories, that’s the best part. Too many of the greats from my childhood have already passed. I am so happy that I got to meet a few of them before they did. Jim Steranko is 85 years old. If he’s anywhere near you soon, you cannot pass up the opportunity.

This, of course, would be ideal, but I don't see that he will be nearby anytime soon.

Jim Steranko seems to be a regular at the Windy City Pulp and Paper convention. If someone really wants to meet him you could take a chance at him being there again this year. I hear he might not sign anything though when he's not set up for that purpose. I never tried to talk to him but I would see him walking the convention floor just talking to people.
