I'm at a Super Bowl party and this is my first time using an IPad. I also thought it should have been a Tec 27, but the premise is hiding money by being paid in things other than money. So perhaps he doesn't even care about comic books. Who knows. IOt is a movie. But my original point was, that he was not "running". He was packing to go to battle. Yet he took a comic book and cash. I think is was just because it was something's special to him. Not for the one financialvalue. But who knows. It's a movie. |

Snyder is stuck in the Watchmen movie universe and can't seem to generate a Superman that is a functioning person who is self-assured, smart, bold, and brave. |

I needed more time to accept BatFleck, and Doomsday is/was supposed to beat the hell out of the entire justice league before killing Superman. It should have been 3 hours longer, then maybe I could agree ![]() |

The Extended version is a much better movie too. The theatrical release should never again be seen by human eyes.

BTW, Superman was the lone survivor of an alien planet raised on a world where everyone is different than him and he is forced to lie about what he is his entire life and hold back from helping people just to protect himself. And you honestly think he's going to grow up well adjusted? Snyder gave us a reality based Superman. And Man of Steel was fantastic because of it.

Quote:Originally Posted by DarthLego Yes, I do think he'd be well adjusted. Why? He's that way within the comics. His adoptive parents love him, raised him to have an inner strength, and instilled in him unshakable ethics. Synder has stated that he doesn't want a well adjusted Superman with those types of ethics as he believes it would be boring. The first Christopher Reeves Superman shows that a well adjusted, smart, bold, and ethical view of the character works fine and the long history of the comics show that it does too. Synder filters his Superman through his Watchmen ideas. So, in his messed up films we get a Superman who gets his butt handed to him by Batman and then whines about Martha. In other words, someone who is a quitter. The idea that he'd be a mental mess came out of Tim Burton's failed attempt to have the flowing locks wig wearing Nic Cage be Superman and the spider Brainiac as the evil villain. I'm glad that didn't get made as it would have spelled an end to any Superman movie after it. We found out how well the spider idea worked when it popped up in Wild Wild West film. Sorry to ressurect a dead thread, but thanks @conditionfreak for the movie suggestion, I loved it! For the life of me I could not determine as well why he would pack that comic at that point in the movie. No reason at all to do so. However, he was high functioning autistic with OCD, which leads me to believe he just loved comics as we do, and must have it close during stressful times ![]() |

There's another reason that he could have taken the Action #1. Sure, he's Batman now, and although we try to forget, he played Daredevil too. But has anyone ever seen the movie Hollywoodland? It's actually not a bad movie where BA plays George Reeves, the TV Superman. Wow, how many actors can include Superman, Batman, Daredevil, and the two Jennifers on their resume?!![]() |

I saw Hollywoodland. It was cool mostly because it was about the famous actor that played Superman "back in the day" when I was a kid. Speaking of Jennifer Aniston. She is in a lot of commercials as of late, and it is amazing that she is 48 years old. She looks 35 to me. |

In the Accountant, someone in the movie (can't remember who) says the lead character accepts different forms of payment. My sense is he may have received the comic as payment for services and was taking it because it is hugely valuable but, as some on this thread have said, is easier to carry. As for BvsS, one word: "Martha...." |

Superman is not and never has been a hardass. Old fashioned corn-fed Kansas kid. He's a boy scout, and has almost always exhibited those traits (often references "be prepared" as well). If you're expectations are a Batman personality, I can see how one would be put off, but draw a "whiny or maladjusted or quitter" conclusion, that's not the case at all.
