Suck it up, buttercup!! KatKomics private msg quote post Address this user
Ramona Fradon
After an extremely long run in the comic industry, at 97, Ramona has decided it's time for her to retire. She will no longer be doing commissions. She apologizes to all the fans who have been waiting patiently on her wait list to get one. She did say though from time to time she'll do a drawing or two to put up for sale on the website.

Ramona Fradon started her career in 1950. She has worked for DC Comics, drawing 'Aquaman', for which she co-created the character Metamorpho. She has also worked other DC titles such as 'Superman', 'Batman' and 'Plastic Man' along with comic strip Brenda Starr. You can view her commission rates & commission examples by clicking the link below.

I say good on her - at a young 97 I would guess it is time to retire!!!

Co-Creator of Aqualad and of Metamorpho among a long and creative work portfolio!! wonder why Aqualad wasn't mentioned?

@KatKomics Those are great.

If you ever decide to part with the Aquaman sketch please let me know. My daughter is crazy for Aquaman. She'd love to have a sketch like that.

There is one more private signing going on with Romana Fradon with CGC facilitator Rich Henn. Rich has been a facilitator for years and ive dealt with him for years. Trustworthy guy.

Here is his facebook page.
https://www.facebook.com/p/Rich-Henn-Comics-100063581078552/

His email is in the post and he prefers you email him instead of using facebook.

There's a time clock, so get on it if interested.

I'm sure you'll be fine. I haven't dealt with him in years. It's been my experience that the only time leopards change their spots it when they get up and move.

@multi007 thanks!!
now to see if I can find my low grade copy of Adventure 269? 1st appearance Aqualad!!
Although...the Aqualad and Aquaman sketches are pretty good -even better than a signed book!

@KatKomics those sketches are amazing. It's also amazing that at 97 she was still active or working, good for her. I bought these a few years ago and happy to have them

I had no way of knowing that 9.8 graded copies signed by Adam Hughes weren't what you were looking for. drchaos private msg quote post Address this user

I don't really follow artists but sounds like she had a long career and must love what she does to do it until this age. Those sketches are cool, if she drew those at 90 then I am amazed. Most folks get shaky hands WAY before then and it's truly amazing she can still draw so well. I like the style she uses.

@KatKomics id love to have her finish it, but she's retiring, so getting her to finish it wouldnt be possible. would it even be acceptable to have someone else finish it? (like joe Rubenstein or someone of that caliber?).

I have a couple of full body w/ background Aquaman from Ramona I haven't scanned yet (and need to find), but being in the Northeast where she lives, I go to see her every single time she's been at a convention.

I target artists 1st; not comics when going to cons over the last 30 years.
Happy to have gotten these from her.

I can't draw 1/100000 of what she can do at ANY time in my life.
To obtain these brilliant pieces while she did these in her 80s and 90's is just a tribute to her outstanding ability and warding off of time.

If you can get a high-quality scan of it, I'm sure someone would finish it for you. I've seen lots of examples of jam pieces where one person does the layout and others finish the individual characters.
