Just to set the record straight, people that came over here from the CGC board had their "vote total" transferred as well. But I'm sure you knew that Darth.

Why did you choose to sell the CGC book and not submit it to CBCS?

Two reasons. First, I have another copy raw which will be going to CBCS at some point. Second, I bought the book already slabbed, so I had already paid a premium on the value, it's only a 2 figure book though, having it regraded by CBCS would have essentially doubled my investment in it without increasing it's value at all. Essentially I'd be throwing money away instead of increasing my investment.

gain, I thikn you may doing yourself a disservice.

The "dirt" that I think you are referring to on this book is actually part of the artwork.

Here is a CBCS 9.8 copy of this book and a CGC 9.8:

http://www.ebay.com/itm/WONDER-WOMAN-38-CBCS-9-8-Finch-Variant-Super-RARE-last-One-/272543082775?hash=item3f74d56917:g:MvUAAOSwo4pYgVJa

http://www.ebay.com/itm/Wonder-Woman-38-2015-DC-1-100-David-Finch-Variant-Signed-Gal-Gadot-SS-CGC-9-8-/371855434159?hash=item56944fa1af:g:4GgAAOSw-0xYWdGv

The CBCS 9.8 book has not been taken out of the CBCS issued Mylite bag for the pics the seller gave...but after looking at your CGC 9.6 copy and comparing it with these 9.8 CBCS/CGC copies, I am wholly sure that the white splotch marks (scuffing abrasions) on the FC art of WW herself are wholly production related defects and are the norm, on this book.

Also, note what looks like possibly "dirt" and/or scuff marks on the BC of each 9.8 slabbed book.Specifically in the lower right corner and in scattered areas close to the spine on the BC of each slabbed 9.8.

That is mostly part of the cover artwork. Some of it is production related scuffing.

As such, both books received a 9.8 from CBCS and CGC.

You can also see spine flecking on both the CGC and CBCS 9.8 slabs. The sellers have not provided close up , angled pics of the spines but if they did, you would see a considerable amount of spine flecking.

Send Joey at CFP a PM and ask him to weigh in on this thread.

With as many books that he presses, I am pretty sure that he has worked on copies of this book.

I am completely sure that he will tell you that spine flecking is a common production related defect, as well.

He could press out the bend that the CGC graders' notes refer to.

He would be able to tell you, based on his experience with subbing books with (varying degrees) of spine flecking, if the book had a solid chance at coming back as a 9.8, if subbed to either CGC or CBCS.

It is a $350 book in GPA average at 9.6 and a $650 book in GPA average at 9.8.

Just saying, I think it is worth getting a second opinion from a presser of Joe's caliber.

@CopperAgeKids Why are you quoting me? I'm not the OP, the book I was talking about has nothing to do with that book.
