Loki season 220103

I award you no points! stanley_1883 private msg quote post Address this user
Season 2 sucks, after 1 episode I understand nothing of what or why anything is happening. Beginning to really feel that Marvel jumped the shark with Thanos. Maybe marvel reached to far, I dunno. However phase whatever number were on is not looking good as whole. Some (very few) bright spots, but……damn.

Unpopular opinion?

You are not alone. Everything from MCU has been complete crap starting with Captain Marvel...both tv shows and film.

It's getting convoluted and difficult to understand even if you're following all the movies/shows etc.

In hindsight, they should have started a completely new storyline after End Game....meaning, treat the new stories as if the blip never occurred. No need for origin stories of heroes and villains we already know but put them in a new and fresh conflicts.

I must be alone? I don't mind season 2, but then again I guess it depends what you are looking to get out of a show?
Loki is just ok to have on - need to treat is as junk food - fun to watch, but no real meat or substance...and that's all any episodic thing can really be if all the real stuff happens in films

Can't remember the last few MCU shows - nothing burgers - some I couldn't finish or never started (not the target audience!) but nothing like Star Wars - can't make it past a few episodes of just about any of their offerings - SW is truly dead for me...MCU hanging on by a thread

Few bright spots…but those are the exceptions of an otherwise fledgling phase whatever. It’s like up to endgame it was about the comics by comic fans…then president business (Lego movie ref) got involved and well the results speak for themselves, but in a word……crap.

From the day that I heard there would be extended stories involving Multiverses and Time Travel with movies and TV shows I knew right there that there would be problems. It is very difficult to keep stories on the straight and narrow when jumping here, jumping there, this guy did this in this timeline but not that timeline, but he died in this timeline but that was before this happened.

I mean really Marvel - how long did you think this convoluted craziness would sustain a viewership other than the most diehards?

I'm a diehard and you're losing me; if not already lost me

Finally - this Kang guy. I fear a mound of ants more than I fear Kang. And so should he. I'm not feeling the threat; just not.

I like season 2. Think it is great. But I would suggest to watch season 1 again as season 2 kicks off literally the second season 1 ended

Given the rottentomatoes ratings, these opinions look to be in the minority. But I think a lot depends on how much you like Tom Hiddleston. And I agree with @poka; if you don't remember or didn't watch season 1, it's rough sledding.

I think Marvel is doing really well.

I liked Moon knight, werewolf by night.
Guardians of the galaxy Xmas special was fun. The third movie was great.
So is Loki.
Season 2 EP 1 was straight forward to follow for me.
Just hope it's entertaining throughout the rest of the season.

Haven’t watched Loki season 2. First season started strong but progressively weakened as it went. My interest had waned significantly by its conclusion.

Loki was the only MCU streamer that held my attention at all. Unlikely I’ll bother with this new season.

As for the MCU overall, hugely disappointing post-2019. Some exceptions, sure. Disney is reducing investment into Marvel content, reflecting the underperformance vs expectations. Remember they invested massively into the infrastructure of these intertwined stories. They needed it to pay off “bigly” and it hasn’t.

I very much dislike time travel and multiverse stories. I see them as a cheap writing trick. Nothing that happened before in continuity matters because you can always make it a different time line or a different part of the multiverse and tell whatever story you want.

You state it well and plainly. Thank you!

One thing I’ve found that helps me understand and appreciate the complexity of all these variants and timelines, and all the little details and nuggets that if you blink you miss them, is to watch a few youtube breakdowns after each episode.

I love that the stakes are so high, anyone and everyone can be killed off, be the hero or the villain at any moment. Whether it be Kang, oroborus, Loki, Sylvie, Morbius, Renslayer…..MISS MINUTES…?

It’s all a mystery and anything is possible. And the series is called Loki. Expect a bombshell/twist at the end.

It’s complex, but I think I’d you want to dive deep it doesn’t take much.
