NYCC Thread - Share Information Here19964

I had no way of knowing that 9.8 graded copies signed by Adam Hughes weren't what you were looking for. drchaos private msg quote post Address this user
Now that Baltimore Comic Con is over I thought it might be time to start a thread for New York Comic Con.

I am planning to be there all four days.

Please share information about Panels, Signings, Exclusives, etc. here.

I will be there all 4 days. Unfortunately on Saturday I'll miss half the day, godson had to be born on Oct. 14th, what a brat

So far not that many panels have been posted that seem interesting.

VIP Funko Pop lottery opened today.

Panel list seems thinner than yesterday.

If you look at the artist alley list instead of the guest list you can not only find the booth numbers but more artists that will be at the show yet do not show up on the guest list.

I was excited to see that Joe Benitez, Lucio Parillo, and Tim Seeley will be there.

@drchaos I will give NYCC credit, the info for artist alley is better than all past years. Excited for Geof Darrow.

The con schedule seems off to me this year. NYCC is a week later and isn’t Baltimore typically after NYCC? This year it was before

Thanks for starting new thread. Nice to see some love for Joe Benitez! Not able to attend so will have a facilitator help out with signings. List of artists looks amazing so will have to be picky.

I have a pass, but Not sure what day I can go. My 15 wedding anniversary is smack in the middle, and the wife has t told me
What we’re doing yet.

I threw the idea of “why don’t we just buy a new hot tub rather than travel somewhere…?” 😁

@Drogio I suppose an anniversary weekend in New York City would be a bit too much to ask for, wouldn't it? LOL

I am not really into Funko Pops but was thinking I could flip a few of the exclusives so I got on the line promptly at 10 AM.

The little task bar seemed to be getting closer to the front of the line but the reservations sold out at 10:23 AM this morning.

If lining up on time gets you nothing I think the website may not work properly.

Got my funko reservation on Tuesday. Past years I was able to get what I wanted for friends/family and buy items to sell which paid off my convention costs.

Last year was a mess and all the desirable stuff was gone by the first two buying sessions. Hopefully it’s not a repeat of last year.

SDCC artist alley list was populated full of artists/creators, the guest list seemed to be only for professionals/creatives speaking of the industry(many topics) or on panels, artist alley guests also did panels and were listed in the app for panels and signings.

I'd been of the belief that comic autograph aficionados were upscale & behaved for many years; particularly when compared to celebrity (actor, singer, performer) autograph aficionados who never seemed to have an ounce of respect or decency.

That Peach line last year at NYCC changed my mind. People are savages everywhere

NYCC sent out an email saying when all the online “reservations” will take place. I’d search their website. Reservations for panels, autographs, and exclusives open up for everyone on Wednesday.

Good news is there are reservations for all 4 days. I secured a slot for every day but Saturday since I won’t be there until the afternoon.

2 years ago McFarlane had a lottery for sigs. A ton of people waited in a line to see if there was a chance at standing in another line to get an autograph. We had us pull a piece of paper out of a bag, I don't remember what it said, but was either yes or try again. This year at another signing, there was a phone app involved, it had a 20 sided dice, when you tapped the screen it would randomly rotate and if you got a 13 or higher, you got a chance to get an autograph. I lucked out and got a 13.

I have one and only one absolute, must have target for NYCC this year:
Get Tim Curry & Susan Sarandon autographs on this book.
Tim, Susan and Meatloaf - I'm very happy

Question for the forum - I've never used CGC folks at conventions; only CBCS.
Can I go to the great CBCS guys and they'll honor the Meatloaf when slab is cracked for the other 2?
Or am I bound in going to CGC and their plastic little ziploc baggies and their crazy ass line for a witness and dopey forms and and and and and all that crap that I want nothing to do with.

@Nuffsaid111 CBCS honors CGC Signature Series slabs. CGC does not honor CBCS Signature Series slabs.

BTW, I'm totally envious of your quest!!!! That would be like winning the lotto in my opinion!!! Great book!!!! Good luck!!!!

Took me about 20 minutes to get into the reservations.

Two of the panels I wanted overlapped by 15 minutes.

I tried to fix many other problems but didn't consider that these two panels were the problem.

While I was convinced that the sold out items were keeping me from checking out (missed the actual problem) I lost out on the Funko pop eXclusives, the Peach Momoko singing times, and most of the best panels I wanted as they all got sold out.

The whole process is way too stressful.

Nope - no Peach here.
And I did try.

I think they're were, perhaps, 2 panels remaining. Everything else sold out.

If the limit for Momoko us five books I would still have problems even if I had gotten a ticket.

If anyone has any idea how to get her signature without a ticket please send me a PM.

I was waiting in line for Al Milgrom once and some guy walked up to the table (not in line at all) and asked him if he would sign a few hundred books later in the day. Milgrom said sure and the guy walked off. You could try that. The people in line might judge you but you could do it anyway.
