@Rbolton Those at the best flour tortillas. The others brands seem like you're chewing gum.

I didn’t look that closely but you are right. Aside from the size pictured the small one is always here as well.

I always think sloppy joes will taste better than they really do. I need to quit falling for my own gastronomical expectations.

Yeah, I've made them from scratch as well. It's like eating funky spaghetti sauce on a bun.

New Years morning breakfast. The store was out of full-size French bread loaves, so I bought the baguette. The bite-size was fun for trying it with different toppings. This one is Blackcurrant Jam and cream cheese. If I do it again, I will slice the baguette thinner. I did an extra-long soak, but it needs a better ratio of wash-absorbing surface area to crust.

I've only done option 1. And it turned out great. The other options were in recipe I copied.

Ingredients

1 pound lean ground beef
1/4 cup chopped onion
1/4 cup chopped green bell pepper
1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
1 teaspoon prepared yellow mustard
3/4 cup ketchup (Or can try 15oz tomato sauce)
3 teaspoons brown sugar
salt to taste
ground black pepper to taste

Directions

In a medium skillet over medium heat, brown the ground beef, onion, and green pepper; drain off liquids.
Stir in the garlic powder, mustard, ketchup, and brown sugar; mix thoroughly. Reduce heat, and simmer for 30 minut
es. Season with salt and pepper.

optional additions

1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
1 tablespoon extra-virgin olive oil, 1 turn of the pan
2 teaspoons to 1 tablespoon steak seasoning blend, such as McCormick brand Montreal Seasoning

This wasn’t unique but it was an America’s test kitchen recipe. Page 117.

America’s Test Kitchen got us again. We started tamales yesterday. The recipe was for chicken but I’ve never had a chicken tamale in my life. We went half of my pulled pork and the other half ground beef……

Never been a fan of tamales. My grand dad used to buy the canned version of them, Hormel Beef Tamales. I think he even ate them without removing the paper wrapper.
