I made my version of Tuscan White Bean soup today. Everyone went back for seconds, so I guess it came out pretty good.

I have never been a fan of fresh beans but they are so easy to grow and can be planted in short time frames in different places. My Grandma always grew them and made them similar to this around white conquerer day. I had a bunch seal vac'd in my freezer.

we saved the bacon grease from said beans and were able to make almost 75% of the butter amount for @DrWatson's famous cornbread. Im not sure if it was the grease or just cooking it a bit longer but it broke clean outta the cast iron.

Nice. I only have the one 10 inch skillet. I can’t really say I know how to get it’s full potential but it’s nice to have.

Used a cast iron skillet for the chicken. Got a little sloppy taking it out of the oven an now have a nice burn on my index finger.

@HeinzDad - By coincidence, I used cinnamon, cayenne, white pepper and a few other spices on the roasted carrots and onions.

nothing special -first 'real' foods made while we have no kitchen (renos!)
I mean 'real' other than like cereal, sandwiches and toaster oven fair (frozen pizza etc!)

Made a batch of potato leek soup for myself (for the next few days) and taco's for the family to enjoy (even though it isn't Tuesday!)
Not much of 'real' cooking for the tacos but brown some meat - add some spice, chop some lettuce, tomato and shredded cheese.
