@HAmistoso try just watching young David Spade the whole time. He puts in work through the whole skit.

Oh yeah, it's not the first time. Tends to happen once in a while whether it's auctions or buy it now from MCS. I would say it's only 1% of the time I get a deadbeat on MCS but it's 100% annoying when it happens.

It's shitty because it takes a month to figure out that you aren't going to get paid. Ties up the books in limbo for a month and the expected money from those sales often encourages new purchases in the meantime. And when it's the Prime auction, those only come around every 90 days. I feel you, in the last Prime auction I was sweating payment on 3 of my 8 sales, totaling over 60% of my total auction revenue. I got lucky this time and all 3 paid in the last 2 days before the deadline.

Every few weeks I get a Staples coupon for x amount of dollars off if you spend a certain amount of money. So I went to the Staples site and put something in my cart, and figured I would put some other items in later. Then I got another email from Staples offering $25 off if you spend $75, but it was only good for in-store purchases. So I removed the item from my cart, and decided to make my purchases in person at a store. So now, Staples keeps sending me emails “reminding” me that there are items in my cart. But when you click on the cart, it’s empty! This has happened at least a few times already. If they knew something was in my cart a few days ago, why can’t they figure out that it’s empty now?!
Bass Pro Shops does something similar that also grinds my gears. I will look at a piece of fishing equipment online just to spec it out and check its price. Later that day or the next day, I will get an email from them asking me if I am still interested in that item. I wish I could respond “If I was, I know where to find it, so mind your own business!”

On a similar note, I hate when you sign up for e-mail notifications and they hit you up 3-4 times a week. If Costco sent me two notifications a month, I would be interested in what's on sale and I would open them and read them. But since they come 3-4 times a week, I mostly delete them without opening them as they are no longer special in that level of frequency. Same thing happened with my favorite sandwich shops...sign up for notifications and they bombard you until you unsubscribe.

You have to be careful with online versus in-store purchases. With many of the office supply stores around here the online price is considerably cheaper than the in-store price. I have been known to order my items online while I am physically in the store. Once I receive the email notification that the items are ready for pick up, I go up to the counter, give them the information, and leave saving sometimes around $100 or more... especially if it's copy paper or computer equipment.

Like Watson said. A week ago I was looking at reptile bulbs from a store online. They aren’t far so I headed off to get one. Turned out it was 10 dollars more in person.

WTB threads on major books that most everybody wants and are readily available if you have tons of cash like Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles 1 1st print

I want to buy Action Comics 1 and 7 but I don't need a thread because if I hit the powerball or mega millions I know where to find one. I wont waste anyone's time

Remember my comment above? Well, now I have plenty of reasons to throw him off the property…I’ve told him as well. It grinds my gears that it finally came to this…momma should’ve stopped when she could. I had to call her at work and tell her. Now we’ll see what happens. I preordered a book from a small press publisher quite a few months back with the expected release date in July. I made two other orders of back issues from MCS and decided to save on shipping by combining the orders with the preorder. Man, that one issue has been delayed til September. Not really a big deal but kind of annoying.

Collectors that dig through the $1 boxes full of nineties crap, then proceed to remove tape and bag to inspect $1 books for condition without asking. It's a $1 book. If by chance out of the fifty you buy one is not up to scratch then toss it. You can't even buy a cup of coffee for a $1.

I really shouldn't work in retail.

The correct answer is that it depends on the tier. The discount makes an express new book $10 more than standard, $8 for modern, $8 for vintage. I used the code on a premium book, which has no standard option.

Me: I'd like to return my Comcast cable boxes and keep the telephone service and the Internet.

Comcast: Why are you returning the cable boxes?

Me: The TV service costs too much.

Comcast: Mr. Watson, you do realize that your services are bundled and if you cancel one of them you will no longer receive the promotional rate.

Me: I'm paying $255 a month now. How could the rate be more expensive with less services?

Comcast: Please hold, Mr. Watson. Telephone and Internet would be $125 a month.

Me: That's $130 a month less even without the bundle.

Comcast: Yes, but you lose your package discount.

Me: Is that package discount $125 per month or more?

Comcast: No, Mr. Watson.

Me: Well, there yo go.

Comcast: So you don't want to bundle your services?

Me: No, and after this conversation, I'd disconnect more if I could.
