ok...I'm was in full Oscar the Grouch mode tonight...

Humanity...humanity grinds my gears

My wife had a friend cancel on her so I got to go to a Matt Dusk concert with her - crooner style guy doing Christmas classics and Sinatra etc. - was actually pretty good!

1.) all tickets are on phones now...so when you are waiting for them to open the doors and you see them prepping...THAT would be the time to pull the tickets up so they are ready to scan...NOT as you get to the usher/ticket person!!!

2.) all venues in general.. $11 bucks for 2 bottles of water - what the actual f@ck!!!
3.) attire....this crowd was mostly cotton tops (people with white hair!)..and good on them...everyone lived through the show....I honestly wouldn't have been shocked if some didn't....BUT...if you couldn't pull off a backless, bare shoulder outfit before men landed on the moon -you can't now either!!!!

4.) parking event pricing...just f#ck you guys....it's a Saturday night in Niagara Falls and it's minus something with the wind chill...you should be happy anyone is showing up at all never mind charging extra!!!

The cost of World Cup tickets, I am looking at taking my wife, son and one of his friends for his 18th bday this year since it’s being hosted about an hour away from us, cheapest tickets for a USA match start at around $1,500 per ticket!!

About the only thing in our price range is the parking they also charge, 154 bucks to park! That’s just obnoxious.

I totally get it...but this is the free market system at work. The demand is simply there and the event will sell out. Obnoxious? 100%!

Instead of being their live....go to a nice restaurant or pub with your loved ones and treat them to a good meal, a few pints and enjoy the game on a big screen.

Avoid the $30+ drinks and chaos parking situation at the actual World Cup event.

Watch the game in comfort with your family.

....and the money you saved, buy some kick ass comics.

People who constantly call to ask one simple question or a statement that can can be answered in one text. Here's an example.

Two missed calls while I was at the gym this morning then another after I made breakfast. Three missed calls from my sister to tell me my cousin will be leaving Sunday instead of Saturday for a visit due to a weather system coming through the east coast. Cool. That's a text which isn't worth of three missed calls.

I'm not a girl so I don't sit with my phone at the ready.

I live a stones throw away from the stadium so I'm getting out of dodge during the world cup, U.S.A are playing Australia which is a game I'd like to watch and finding out the prices of the tickets and I don't have to worry about parking I'm going to pass. That kind of money is a good starting bass for a nice vacation.

To add to that. People who text a novel over-explaining something that can be said in one sentence or possibly even not at all.

@southerncross @Rbolton Yeah I've been hearing about the exorbitant World Cup ticket prices, which I can understand to some extent considering a huge global event like this. FIFA's been under immense pressure to address the pricing from other nations, but their money chasing ways never surprises me. Definitely worth taking the price of one of those tickets to gather friends and family elsewhere to enjoy the game comfortably eating and drinking well. Use the spare change to buy some cool comics afterwards!

I'm seeing the same thing unless I enter a "Random Selection Draw" after creating an account on the Fifa site. Then if you're randomly selected after inputing your ticket preferences, you have the right to purchase tickets for the price selected.

Here are the rules:
https://digitalhub.fifa.com/m/2327211ae5615430/original/FIFA-World-Cup-26-Official-Rules-for-the-Random-Selection-Draw-v5-FINAL-CLEAN_10DEC25.pdf

Here's the site where I created an account (I've yet to enter the drawing):

https://fifa-fwc26-us.tickets.fifa.com/account/lotteryApplications

I clicked the Random Draw:

I filtered by Venue and then selected the affordable individual matches I'd like to attend:

The potential to get a ticket for $140-$180 isn't bad. Maybe Fifa doing it this way is better to prevent scalping.

Maybe we can start a Fifa World Cup 2026 thread and update it if there are any new ways to purchase affordable tickets.

@flanders from the way I’m reading it, you do not have any say on a specific venue, what ever ticket you may draw determines the venue you would have to get to in order to see the game, does it read this way to you?

THE PRIZE.
The Prize consists of ticket(s) allocated to you as a winner from the Selected Tickets chosen by you at the time of entry (the “Allocated Tickets”). The odds of winning a Prize will depend on the number of tickets available as well as the number of Eligible Persons who participate in that
Draw and their selection of tickets applied for. The Prize, meaning the allocation of tickets, has no monetary value

From what I'm reading I can specifically select individual games across the country that I'm committed to purchasing if I win the draw. I can filter to Los Angeles only and select the # of tickets I want for each game. I'm not forced to go to a random venue or game.

I'm not submitting an application yet, but here's my total if I select all these games and 2 tickets per game. I'd only pay if I win the drawing.

I'm not sure soccer players make more than NFL players....it might be close on averages....don't top NFL players make $30+M per year? I know top soccer players get crazy contracts too but I think they're pretty close to NFL top salaries.

Im not an NFL guy.

It was good. I’m about to sound old here but a pack of teens, say 10, were theatre hopping. We lived with it and reported it on the way out and they said they knew. What good are the security fella’s.

Parked my vehicle waiting for a Facebook guy to meet me. A kid trying to do a wheelie on an ebike loses control and crashes into my vehicle and the car next to me. He goes by trauma hawk to ER, the owner of ebike is responsible for damages not the kid who was riding it. The kids who owned ebike stepmother says deal with kids dad. The stepmother was trailer trash looking and pregnant. The other guy whose vehicle was also danaged texted me saying he doesn't think they can afford to fix vehicles. Apparently he used to be law enforcement and can spot a deadbeat.

So my driver's side mirror is busted. And multiple dents. The guy said I might need to go to small claims court. Sigh.....

I came out of the grocery store to find the passenger side of my truck's bed panel smashed in and my tire slit and flat where someone plowed into the truck and drove off. $220 for a new tire and $1112 to replace and repair the side panel. Now, I drove the yard work truck to the store and park way off by myself.
