there was a ref to Darth in another thread. Darth is fine and so is Atakmunky7. think they would like to come back to the forum if they were allowed (both were suspended). forum could use their Star Wars knowledge

Agreed. It is a shame that accumulated suspensions come with a life sentence. It would be interesting to me to have an additional step prior to a perm ban. Have them issue a mea culpa for the rule violation for one last chance. @Jesse_O could start a new moderator's thread called "Last Chance Mea Culpa" for heartfelt apologies and acknowledgment of the rule violation if a person really wants to stay in the forum (with comments locked). It would probably remain empty but, the opportunity would exist.

They have three shots to get their act together within a calendar year. Plus, each strike falls off after a year. That doesn't included the verbal warnings given where no strikes were issued or the 24 hour wrist slaps that don't count toward suspension. If one can't tow the line after verbal warnings, wrist slaps, and three strikes, then they get what they get.

It doesn't cost anything to be courteous. If one wants to be a prat, it will eventually cost them their forum membership.

Am I the only one who misses the days when you could open the washing machine lid during the wash cycle?

I have an LG top-load washer that locks when the cycle starts. To open it and add another item you have to first press a "pause" button. That pauses the cycle and unlocks the washer.

It's not bad but I prefer just to be able to open the top and drop in an extra shirt, towel, whatever.

My top loader locks until it is told to stop/pause, it's about 5 years old.😅

Also, I will never buy another top load washing machine without an agitator in the center.

Hardly any have a agitator anymore. I remember being surprised when I bought my new machine a a couple years ago.

Yeah, they call it innovation. I'll go back to beating my laundry on a rock before I go agitatorless again.

Looks like I get to ask "what would you do". The X-Men 1 I got on eBay was originally graded by PGX. It's coming back from CBCS as having a trimmed cover. Would I be a jerk for doing a return or asking for a partial refund? I asked the seller before bidding if he bought the book graded or not and he said he did, so presumably he didn't know about any missed restoration.

@DWeeB1967 Same with my Samsung top-load what I don’t like is that the pause and power buttons are next to each other which a few times I meant to pause but accidentally turned it off. The wash cycle then needs to be started over again.

I haven't but I did see that @Darkga started a thread just today in which he mentioned selling on Catawiki. Maybe he can share some insight.

I'm sorry you got burned. I know you were hunting that book for a while. I don't know if the guy will buy back a trimmed book. PGX is a horrible grading company. Hopefully you can resell your book and recoup some of the money.

So PGX missed a major defect? That's so... uncommon........

Anyway, I wish you luck but since it's not the same item anymore, meaning it's in a completely different slab now, you could have trouble returning it. And I'm talking about eBay, not the seller. If it's known to be trimmed there is little chance he will take it back so you're likely dependent on eBay.
Start the return, see what he says and then see what eBay says.
If you used PayPal, you have extra protection and may need to pursue it but they won't do anything until eBay has made a decision.

Good luck.
And don't buy PGX.

I always assume when buying a PGX slab I'm getting a book that isn't accurately graded and has a high potential to have restoration, trimming, or missing pages and I'll pay 50% of the fmv at most of an unrestored book. I'd ask for a refund for the difference of the price you paid and tne FMV of the CBCS trimmed book and keep it in your collection. I know trimming has a more negative affect on value than color touch and other minor restoration, so I might even consider returning it. I don't know how that'll work since you're not sending the same item back and have removed it from the slab.
