So im not sure if this has been asked or answedd anywhere before, but if i have a CGC slab and want the book reslabbed by CBCS whats the process for doing that? Do i need to crack the slab and send it as usual or can i send the slab and they break it open and regrade it?

Just send it in as-is and CBCS will regrade it.

@Abyss919 You can send it to CBCS in the CGC slab. This adds protection to your book while in transit. CBCS may charge you $5 (I believe) for cracking it out of the slab.

You can also decide to crack it out yourself and send it in.

There is no guarantee at all that your book retains the same grade that CGC provided. CBCS will grade the book their way.

Welcome to the forum. 🍻

Last time I sent a CGC slab to CBCS (a few years ago) there was no additional charge for cracking the slab.

Maybe make a pit stop at the CBCS Pressing Department before grading? You never know what could happen...

I'm thinking now maybe this $5 charge was when CBCS had their private signings....if you sent in a slabbed book to get signed they'd charge $5 to crack the slab.....memory gets fuzzy as time goes on.

I agree about leaving it in the slab. It will be extra protection. If you're not experienced cracking cases you might accidentally harm the book. Good luck and welcome!!
